| Here is the link of the story on the spca investigation for those that did not get to watch it. I think no one should email them unless they have either seen or read what this was all about. In my opinion they werent saying that it was ok to run puppymills...there has been an investigation on the spca regarding them taking animals that did not have the conditions the rescuer was accusing them of...also a undercover vet went along on one of the raids and he himself said he did not see the animals being neglected or sick. These animals were all removed from people....expensive horses as well as a dog shower lost all of hers...they are taking these animals and selling them to profit off it. This rescuer Garcia earns like 80,000 a year and I think about 50 people that lost their animals have complained that they never neglected them. Garcia had a smirk the whole time during the interview. When some of the animals were removed at a raid....they were taken back to be checked and they werent even being checked my an actual vet. Just technicians! Some were even a bit over weight. http://abcnews.go.com/2020/story?id=817494&page=1 |

| I agree I didn't like Gracia's smugness..that was not MY problem with the piece, my problem was with the fact that they made it seem okay to leave the dogs for 4 days alone..the food..like someone stated it needs to get in the bowl, the dogs did have fleas and mange (described by the vet as "non-life threatening"..but those are not conditons..at least the mange.. that occur in only 4 days)..and what kind of breeder allows that to occur. This segment also at some point stated something to the effect that only a small percent of large scale commerical breeders (puppymills)..have horrible conditions...A LARGE # DO....a statement like this and a show like 20/20 only showing a "mediocre" breeding offense as a whole picture(not both sides of the story)..plus a shady SPCA guy...may make people who don't know much about puppy mills and have heard think oh it IS NOT SO BAD...this is what they should be ashmamed of..BAD REPORTING..and also it slammed basically the whole Texas SPCA..of which I don't know...but I wouldn't want to buy a dog from a breeder that has Mange, Fleas and Dogs left alone outside for days at a time...and I don't agree with the process over there but maybe if some of those breeders have something to fear they will keep their animals in the shape they should be in...JMO |
