Watch 20/20 right now There is a story about animal abuse on tv right now. I think part of the story is about mills |
Watching it too, poor puppies. |

Sorry false alarm! Person who called me gave me wrong info about the segment... |
Why don't those bastards go after the puppy mills in MO, KS and PA? I do think some of those operations looked like mills, though. Who could possibly care for 189 dogs? If she couldn't afford a lawyer, she certainly couldn't afford the vet bills for that many dogs! I do think the horse guy was done wrong and maybe the lady ho rn the shelter. it sickens me that some of those dogs were put down! |
20/20 i watched some were bad but not near as bad as in missouri i have seen a heck of alot worse |
I don't feel bad for any of them (SO-CALLED BREEDERS)...you DON'T LEAVE your babies for 4 days by themselves, with no one watching, dirty water, fleas and mange and say Oh it's not that bad...20/20 should be ASHAMED |
did anyone record it by any chance i missed it. I was at a kids bday party. Let me know if anyone did. thanks |
No but you didn't miss anything was only a short segment and it was basically defending some backyard breeders...saying the Texas SPCA was over reacting and the conditons weren't life threatening, etc, etc, |

If 20-20 was defending those kinds of living conditions (bad) then I think we could write the show and complain ....if enough people do it - they might go a step further and actually DO a show on puppymills ! |
Yeah the babies they took from the breeder had fleas, mange and 20/20 said that their owner must have cared because they had "eukanuba" food (called high quality in the segment)....who cares if there were left alone for 4 days with no more food or water left and in their own feces outside???....I emailed 20/20 because I was so disturned by the bad light they put the SPCA in. |

there's LOTS of people saying just what you said ! HERE IS THE 20 20 email link for anyone who wants to complain - http://abcnews.go.com/2020/story?id=123566&page=1 |
I am going to get slammed for this by all of you but if you watched that segment, there was an impartial vet present who said none of those animals that were taken away from the breeders had fleas or mange or were starving, etc... the conditions weren't great but even the vet said if you have a dog, there will be poo around. I'm not saying it's wise to leave animals for 4 days, but the guy who runs the SPCA in TX has a god complex. He just spins things to work in his favor. I've heard about him before and he is a bully. He was asked questions and either couldn't answer them or flat out lied. He has his own agenda and I don't think caring for animals is his #1 priority. |
I didn't see this, but my breeder owns 100 yorkies of his own, and has a lovely breeding area. He raises a lot of pups. He, his wife and two teenage children. It is a full time job for the entire family. You could see they love those dogs - all cared for well, everything clean, monitored on television, big bells on their collars. All were clipped short for easy maintenance, but even the clipping has to be a HUGE job for that many pups. His daughter (about 14) raises her own pups - I think Maltese. They live on a big farm. Personally, I love animals. I have to be very careful not to overwhelm myself with animal care. At Petco yesterday my kids were wanting snakes and hamsters. They know I am a sucker for animals. I cover my ears and close my eyes, won't even go look. I love to buy them beds - all sorts of junk. I abhore puppymills, but just having a lot of animals does not make you bad. Be careful in throwing judgement. There are an awful lot of single animal homes where the animal is treated horribly - do you ever watch that Animal Cops show. I can't watch - it is so horrible. |
So after lycan died we started to look around Oklahoma to find another puppy and i was amazed at the number of puppymills in this state. I called our local animal shelter with some questions about this fact and was told "there is nothing we can do about puppymills as long as they are clean and provide a good enviroment for the animals" I wanted to scream do you call living in a cage all your life being bred having a litter then being bred again and again and again a "good enviroment" The human race disgusts as my husband calls it these people are "selling love" and making quite a profit off of it. |
