I agree I didn't like Gracia's smugness..that was not MY problem with the piece, my problem was with the fact that they made it seem okay to leave the dogs for 4 days alone..the food..like someone stated it needs to get in the bowl, the dogs did have fleas and mange (described by the vet as "non-life threatening"..but those are not conditons..at least the mange.. that occur in only 4 days)..and what kind of breeder allows that to occur. This segment also at some point stated something to the effect that only a small percent of large scale commerical breeders (puppymills)..have horrible conditions...A LARGE # DO....a statement like this and a show like 20/20 only showing a "mediocre" breeding offense as a whole picture(not both sides of the story)..plus a shady SPCA guy...may make people who don't know much about puppy mills and have heard think oh it IS NOT SO BAD...this is what they should be ashmamed of..BAD REPORTING..and also it slammed basically the whole Texas SPCA..of which I don't know...but I wouldn't want to buy a dog from a breeder that has Mange, Fleas and Dogs left alone outside for days at a time...and I don't agree with the process over there but maybe if some of those breeders have something to fear they will keep their animals in the shape they should be in...JMO |
