Oh how horrible for you and your little girl!!! Sending my prayers for a fast recovery. We all hope you'll still come to the fair, we'd love to meet you and your special little girl!!!!!!

I am careful with my 2 little Yorkies everyday when we go for a walk but there is close to nothing that will save you when another larger or sometimes even small dog decides to attack.. they are usually just too swift you can not think or act fast enough.

give her tons of hugs and kisses these little one are resilient and as long as the vet doesn't see any need for treatment the both of you will recover. and hopefully it will make you both intrinsically faster.

We have a big black lab who lives near us and twice now he's charged us as we walk by with our two 4 pounders. Thankfully, both times my husband was there to stand up to him while I grabbed the girls. When I told his owner about this, she acted surprised and just said he's afraid of small dogs "so maybe that's why" Then she had the nerve to suggest I bring them over sometime when he's on a leash to introduce them so maybe he'll get over his fear. Yeah, right. And I'm the Queen of England. But I guess I'm the ditz because to keep good neighborly relations, I haven't called animal control for leaving him loose in the front yard.

Have the neighbors ever come by to check on your baby?

I would definitely tell animal control that this dog has killed another dog.

Hope your baby feels better soon!

my gosh So scarey I just now saw this. I hope sadie is still improving. Did the Animal Control get back with you? Are you going to ask the Huskies owner to pay for the vet bills? I will Keep you and Sadie in my prayers.

This is a good reminder about our little babies and how vulnerable they are. We have had close calls, nothing as scary as yours though!! I am so sorry. I would be a COMPLETE MESS if that happened to my little girl. Thank you for posting this. My dog loves to walk on the damn near our home, but lots of dogs are up there, and some very STUPID people don't use a leash all of the time. I always feel guilty for not taking my little girl up there where she just loves to go, but this reminds me that maybe a walk is not always the best choice for these precious little babies.

you got very lucky most dog attacks leave bad wounds espically with such a size differance i have taken for granted a dog not acting bad and got a really bad open bite wound i wont do it again ill tell you that i hope your yorkies ok!

I hope you made a police report and a report to Animal Control.

I hope the vet was able to help you too.

Everyone needs to be cautious around anyone else's dogs--no matter what the owner says. Even yorkies can be provoked.
