Villette, Alcohol cools down the body's surface temperature immediately. Health care workers and parents also use this same method for breaking high fevers.

| ![]() I guess one that I never really thought of when I first got my pup but heard on here several times is don't take your pup out or around other dogs until they get all their shots. It puts them at risk of catching something they have not yet been vaccinated for. It makes a lot of sense but when you get your little baby the first thing you want to do is show them off and so many people take them directly to pet stores. So this one may be a good one for new puppy owners.

| ![]() EEk! I had never heard the one about broccoli before, Tuck had a couple of bites off my plate (teeny tiny bites) last nite. I thought I knew most everthing edible that was a danger - does anyone know anything more about the broccoli? -like what it does to them? I'd really like to hear because I always believed it safe. Just goes to show, there's always more to learn and worry about! |

"Broccoli toxicity has been noted in livestock. Apparently in California it is widely available at certain times and the dairy cattle there are fed broccoli due to this. If the percentage of broccoli in the diet exceeds 10% it can cause gastrointestinal upsets and if it exceeds 25% it is fatal. " A lil bit shouldn't hurt your baby, but if they have sensitive stomach's why take the chance or why chance it even if they don't have sensitive stomach's?

| ![]() Daisysmom - somehow this struck me so funny. I reminded me of the days when a person could repeat something heard or read and would begin with "They say ...", but reply "Who is 'they' " would become an unknown. Now, with the internet we can all sound like a genius! I love the 'information highway' - do they still call it that? Sorry to go off topic - I just got a chuckle ![]()

| ![]() this is so great!!! string -- any kind, esp. yarn! use a harness when walking your baby on a leash to keep him from hurting his neck. if you're carrying your baby around in a doggy bag make sure it's a "safe" bag -- meaning that it has a safety hook inside and also make sure that you hook puppy to bag using a harness. if he does jump out, the harness will keep him from strangling himself. |

| ![]() I had an adorable pet rabbit that drowned in the toilet. My ex had left a pile of dirty clothes and towels beside the toilet that she climbed up, she must of been thirsty or curious. She was litter trained. The bathroom is where we kept her litter box. Also one of the worst things that has ever happened to me was that my s**tzu was poisoned by Scrub Free. Our cat knocked it off the counter when we were not home. The top broke off and we figure our lil General walked through it then cleaned his paws. Our vet tried to for 2 days to save his life but couldn't. This is why I keep Mya in a large cage when I have to leave her at home alone.

| ![]() I keep a board in the track for my sliding glass door. Asia drop a treat in the track one day and got her face stuck trying to get it out. Scared me to death when she start yelping and crying. I had to hold her and gently remove her. She was not hurt, but I'm glad I was there to keep her from hurting herself Trying to get loose. The board stays in there from now on. |
