New baby boy had hernia..neutered already Hi everyone! I am happy and excited to be a "newbie." I have found my . He is 9 weeks old today. He has already overcome surgery to repair a hernia, and in the process they also neutered him. I found his handsome little face on the internet and fell in LOVE instantly. I have wanted a Yorkie for so long and my husband is getting him for me as my birthday gift (which is today). We will make our first payment on him today and he should arrive the weekend of June 17th, which is our anniversary weekend. Our anniversary is the 19th, so this all works out perfectly! Our little man will be flying into the Philadelphia airport where we will drive to meet him. I don't know all the logistics yet. I just found out that he WILL be mine. I am so anxious to meet and hold him!! I look forward to everyone's advice and to getting to know everyone here. From what I've read so far, everyone seems so nice and helpful, and of course everyone is head over heels in love with their little fur babies . I know I will enjoy being a part of this forum!

Congratualtions!! Welcome to YT and congrats on your new baby. I know how hard it must be to wait to get him, I couldn't stand waiting to get Baby. What kind of hernia did he have? Baby had a hernia when i got her too, she had an Inguinal Hernia, which was operated on during her spaying, which we did early too, but not as early. Her surgery was at 4 months, just to ensure the safety with the anesthesia. But anways welcome and good luck with your baby, can't wait to hear more about him!

More excited by the minute Thanks everyone SOOO much for the great welcome!! I just got off the phone from speaking to the breeder. Max, as they call him, (not sure what I'll name him yet but he DOES look like a Max) had a bilateral inguinal hernia and they operated on him about a week ago, at 8 weeks old. I have the information for the veternarian that they use and plan on calling her for as much information as I can get. The breeder said he has healed well and romps around like he never had any surgery. I just want him home so I can cuddle and take care of him. The breeder is going to send me updated pics and also his weight. His mama was 4 lbs. and his daddy 3 and a half, and both his grandparents are under 5 lbs. so he may be a little guy when he's all grown up. I have also heard that if you spay or neuter young, before the hormones hit, that they tend to stay smaller...not sure how true that is though. I just want him happy, healthy, and here!! Yes, I am already owned by my Yorkie son...his little doggie pawprints are already walking a pathway all over my heart THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE WARM WELCOME!! AND THE BIRTHDAY WISHES!!

Welcome and happy birthday. You will love it here. I've never met so many wonderful and caring people on one site! Waiting is sooooo hard! We just met our new baby today. We went to the breeders and picked out our boy and made the deposit. Now we have to wait a week to take him home. I can hardly wait. His name is Tucker. We were considering Max, that's a great name. He is adorable! Good luck. Can't wait til you have him in your arms.
