Donating YT 11K Club Member | ARGHHHH!! so annoying Teddy's hair has so many knots!! It took me 1/2 hour just to comb out one side and the other is still knotted. I honestly don't know what to do....and he won't stay still. His hair is like wavy, curly... |

| Keep at it! I feel for ya, Tetley hates being brushed out too. I have to distract him with cheerios to get the job done, and I have to do it on his 'grooming table' (just a big piece of plywood with non-skid matting glued to it) for him to know I mean business. If I try to brush him when he's on the bed or sofa, he just tries to get away. If he's in his grooming spot, he knows there's nowhere to go and submits. Good luck! |

| maggies hair was like that for a while. i finally took her to the groomer (she was 16 weeks old) and had them cut her short and just let it grow out from there. now i brush her at least once a day and she has not had any mats at all since her visit to the groomer. i think we got most of the puppy fur off at that visit. her hair has grown back in very silky and much easier to manage. how old is teddy???

| Aw, I'm so sorry to hear about this! Sounds like he has a modified silk coat since you say his face is silky but the rest of his coat is different. Have you tried using Cowboy Magic? It might help him, I think purecanine.com has it. I bought it for Jewelina and Jaden thinking it would add shine but it only made them greasy They don't ever get matts or knots in their hair so I have zero use for it. If you want me to pour what's left of it into a smaller bottle and send it to you I'd be happy to. And tell Teddy not to worry that he always looks good for the ladies, Jewelina said so! |

O yea he is a stubborn little guy. Ever since I got him at 10 weeks old I had him used to me brushing him but he didn't have knots so it was ok. And even now everytime i say "brush" he knows and will stay still but the problem is when I comb out his hair for knots it hurts him so he bites the comb and me. Not hard of course but it hurts him so he tries to stop it. He doesn't mind at all getting his face brushed, he likes that. And his face hair is so nice compared to his body. | |

| I would say Cowboy Magic... It works wonders, and it did not make Luna's hair greasy...Besides that, I would prefer to give the dog a bath after dematting than wait until mats are worse, and have to cut...

| If it still doesnt come out, dont shave it, but just cut off the knots and brush it a lot so it doesnt come back... dont worry it grows back fast! |
