It's a bit awkward to dogknap him now, as you have been in contact with them and they will think it was you. Get a yorkie pal or some friends to get it - as I said if I were not in Scotland it would be me travelling a state or two to help you out......
ANYONE OUT THERE TO HELP THIS LOVELY WOMAN GET THE YORKIE TO SAFETY ???
I am glad you are doing something - if the manager and the rescue lot don't do anything, then get some forum people to help you. Keep your own dog in for a while too until the heat dies down.
If there is no obvious connection between you and your forum pals/pals living not near....there is nothing to fear about any questions...."you know nothing about it, and how terrible that their dog has been stolen !"
A friend of mine watched in horror as a rabbit was left uncleaned and without food and water in the garden next to her - she would push grass though the mesh when the owner went out - finally she went over in the middle of the night and took the rabbit - and her friend helped her and kept the rabbit in her lovely caring home, well away from it's old home and my friend's home. My friend was never suspected even though the owner had often got onto her for feeding the rabbit and interfering. They assumed it had been stolen.

DO SOMETHING....wish I had the air-fair ! ;)

GOOD LUCK !

BELOW : DEBRA'S THREE 4LB YORKIES JUST LIKE THAT POOR WEE DOG !

Dont go to the Manager. They will just take the dog away for a week then bring him back. Post a add at your Supermarket saying you are looking for a Yorkie ....Maybe they will see it and give you a call.

Sounds like you are stuck in the middle and there is nothing you can do. They really aren't commiting a crime by locking this dog outside. They put a crate out there when it rained. As sad as it is, that is not illegal. For all you know, the dog still isn't potty trained and they have had it. So instead of getting rid of the dog and admitting they don't have the time nor desire to potty train, they simply keep it outside. Bets are on that when it is actually in the house, it is in that same crate that they put outside for it (when it rained). Do you people like that deserve animals? HECK NO~!!!! But the fact is, they do own them, all over the place and there is nothing you can do.

This is horrible. Those ppl are so cruel. I could never leave any of my babies outside unattended even if I did have a yard. I hope that baby gets a good home.

Sounds like you are stuck between a rock and hard place...on one hand I want to say go get the dog...as they dont really seem to care anyhow...how heartbroken could they be if their dog was suddenly gone?? On the other hand that IS stealing...I would talk to animal control...ask them if you can adopt the dog if they take the poor thing. Show them your pictures and time frame..keep a log!!!! I wonder if there is anyone that can back up your story from the apartment building? Would you be interested in having this dog for yourself?? I think I would be sitting at the fence when they came home...take some really good pictures of his/her living conditions for proof and tell her you are going to call animal control and the manager. If you are afraid of her hurting your dog..it might be nice if she is kicked out of that apartment!! Wow this is so hard...you must be going nuts!! I know I would probably take it home and ask questions later...

i think you should write her an anonymous letter expressing your concerns and leave it on her door. if she cares about the dog then she'll appreciate it and it might save her a little face. but she'll probably be embarresed and want to try to fix the problem. if you do call animal control tell them you are concerned about the future of the puppy and that you will help find him a home. there are always people on here looking to rescue.

oh kim - I know this has to be driving you CRAZY knowing that poor little yorkie is out there all alone...:( :( :( they left him/her out in a thunderstorm ? I have to say this - I'd be very tempted to just grab her myself. That's sooooo cruel and lazy. If they're treating her this badly outside I'm sure her inside life isn't much better. WHY the hell do people even GET a dog if they are just going to leave them all alone ?

I feel for you and I know whatever you do will be for the good of this dog. She's lucky you're there and I wish I could help you save her.

Dont know if anyone has said this or not, but

If the manager has told them to find him another home for the dog that may be what they are trying to do. They may be trying to do the right thing by the manager. So if I were you I would wait till I seen them home, have someone go with me and walk over to her place and ask if she needs someone take the dog because of the rule. Offer to buy the puppy and that way the puppy would have a good home and every once in a while she could still see it. If I were her that would be a great fix. The puppy has a good home but still close. Dont be hatful and you may get you a new puppy. If that dont work then take action.

If the pup is left outside all day barking and they aren't supposed to have animals in the first place someone is going to report her..so if you call, the owners wouldn't know who did it...and what if the manager shows up...he will most likely tell them to get rid of it...You would probably be doing the poor little guy/girl a favor by calling.

I think if there is shade, shelter, food & water it is their choice. They may be trying to get out of that situation & doing the best they can at this time. I would offer to check on the dog for them or other ways to help. Calling animal control would not be my first choice unless there was abuse or neglect (not feeding etc) But if they have shade, shelter, food & water I would say stay out of it. Hopefully they are taking in consideration of temps- to hot /to cold & if so its really no worse then people leaving their yorkie in the house day after day w/no fresh air etc working to many hours, then w/shopping, kids & sports they are lucky to be home 8 hours to sleep. We all have unique situations. I am lucky to work part time & take Tilula w/me or be home w/her most of the time. I would maybe if you see them out say I saw your little cute yorkie & offer some suggestions, be kind, helpful, understanding. It sounds like there has been some issues, I really wouldnt try to tick them off to much, they would probably assume its you that called & what would you do if someone tried to have your yorkie taken from you. Try to help them if you see something wrong. But if you would see the yorkie in destress from extreme heat/cold, dehydration or starvation then yes animal control should be called. Sorry you are in such a tough position.

It's already been stated that there is NO food, water, shelter, or a safe enclosure for that matter. Might want to read through the whole thing;)

Yorkie

It is always best to call animal control and not confront the owner or even let it been known you are involved...have you contacted AC or even the Humane Society..they were so good in MD, used to go right out and take the dog..I called them many times..they always keep your name out of it.
