Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | Ok I Have A Serious Question?help! OK YT let's debate for a min. I have noticed huge differences in Peeka and Daisy and i was curious what you all thought about what i think. First off I got Peeka when he was 7 weeks old i had him almost potty trained in 2 weeks (seriously) he was devoted to me and we bonded very fast. Today he is the biggest lover you'd ever want he is at my side 24-7 he is totally devoted to me( big time momma's boy). I taught him many tricks at a young age he was sitting and rolling over very young, He listens when i talk to him or scold him. he has regressed in the potty training since we brought Daisy home which is hard for me but i'm trying..... Now for Daisy We got Daisy at 11 1/2 weeks old she came from a Kennel type place( but was extreamly well taken care of). She is impossible to potty train she just goes where ever she does not get it at all she doesn't listen except when you call her she won't do tricks she doesn't sit still for 5 seconds she will cuddle for a few minutes but thats it. she doesn't really care who's around she loves everyone she doesn't have a paticular favorite like Peeka(which is me) i love her dearly but just haven't bonded with her like i did Peeka. Now the big question... I think it has to do with age that i got them Peeka was young and i was able to mold him to what i wanted he learned fast and is obedient (for the most part) Daisy i think was already set in her ways and learned bad behavior like pottying whenever where ever before i got her. I know you shouldn't bring them home as early as i got Peeka but i was curious if anyone had the same experiance getting one early and one later and what you guys think???

| I dont have that experience, but I think another part is their gender. I have always heard that boys are very much like you Peeka while girls are more like Daisy in that theyre independant. That might be something else to think about!

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | I thought about that to. it's not just the independece it's also the potty trainng and the listening. i don't know it's just so different. I mean don't get me wrong i love her dearly but it's just not that same as Peeka

| Yea, girls have a tendency to be a lot more stubborn and strong-willed. Ive always heard that the males are a lot more eager to please than females. That's just a generalization, though...there are always exceptions

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | Thank you for posting this is excactly what i was curious about. I know these babies are tiny and we need to keep them longer but does anyone think they are being kept to long and the breeders aren't doing a good enough job training them at a younger age to be obediant? I am thinking a lot of breeders don't really pay attention to these little things that can be a really big problem later. A 12 week old puppy should be potty trained (well darn close) IMO but that doesn't seem to be the case with yorkies and i am seriously thinking it's because of this. Even though there is a difference between female and males i really do think it depends on what age you get them as well. Sorry i don't mean to be controversal here just curious. Please don't be afraid to post what you think i really would like some honest opinions

| i think its just the individual dog.. not just the age. sure the age may play a part, but i think its just their personalities |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | hmmm Teddy and London are very different, though I got them both at around the same age. I got them both when they were about 10 weeks old. Teddy was very hyper and didn't listen and is still the same but somehow I trained him so quickly to do tricks. He learned how to sit, heel and paw in 30 mins. He's very smart and loves to learn. He's also very loving and friendly. He's not completely potty trained though. London was more independent when she came but now she always wants to sleep on my bed, she will cry to get on the bed. She doesn't do any trick though because she doesn't care to learn any. And it's hard to teach her any. IDk with Teddy it was very easy. But she loves to be carried and is loving as well. I think it is just their personalities. |

| We got Miko when he was around 12 weeks old and he was potty trained within the first week. And within a month, he was 100% potty trained. He was very easy to potty train He's the sweetest little guy ever! He's always by my side or my husband's side. He follows us everywhere and sleeps on the pillows above our heads

| I think a lot has to do with the breeder and how they raise them as well. Angel was paper trained when I got her at 13 weeks and VERY loving right from the beginning. She still occasionally pees somewhere other than the wee wee pad, but is about 90% trained. Sissy was not at all trained when I got her at 13 weeks old and went wherever, whenever. She also was very loving though. They are both very cuddly pups, though don't seem to mind who does the cuddling!! Neither do tricks. I tried with Sissy and she just wasn't having any of it and I haven't even tried with Angel......
