Ok I Have A Serious Question?help!

Great opinions everyone i love hearing them all! So i think it is age also gender but mabey we are a little more relaxed with the second one's?
I'm gonna crack down on my to here real soon with the potty training Peeka sneaks off to poop in the house so it's hard to catch him

I find it is a combination of several things...males seem to be so much more loving and attentive.. and when neutered, they are not as hard to train as female for the most part. People do love their boys...

The girls can be so hard headed...but mine are housetrained. If a breeder is not going to train a puppy, then they should not keep it past 8 weeks...that is unfair to the new pet owner. I start mine on pee pads at weaning time..they are 50% trained by 12 wks..it is alot of work.

your 2 sound like my 2 dogs! I got bentley when he was 8 weeks old..he caught on to potty training very quickly. He always wants to be by you too.. He's a great cuddler. Miss Karlee on the other hand..omg.. I got her when she was 7 weeks old.. i didn't get her completely potty trained until she was a little over a year old!!!!!! She was so stubborn. She never caught on. nor do i think she cared to catch on. She's also very independant. she onlys gets attention when she wants it. and when she wants it by god you better give it to her or she will bark and bark and bark. Also everything is hers. If bentley is playing with something.she will bark until she gets it then she will drop it b/c she didn't even really want it.. she just wanted it because bentley had it. She is a mess but i love her just as much as bentley.

Glad to see the other end of the spectrum here to. you got both your babies younger and Karlee seems like Daisy lol. Daisy is the same way with toys to she wants whatever Peeka has poor thing lol

I got Chloe at 7 1/2 weeks. I have had no problems potty training her. She hasn't had an accident in the house in over a month, and she's now 6 months old. She has been a fast learner in training too.

Is Peeka fixed?

I bet it is a lot of work and i also feel the same that it is the breeders responsiblity to start the potty training and good behaivior process. I wish all breeders could see the after affects of a puppy that isn't started young i think that is a lot of the reason they are so difficult. I know this is a stubborn breed and they are so dang cute it's hard to disipline them lol. I am finding it really hard with Daisy because she is so tiny i let her get away with way more than i should. I think it's funny when she goes after Peeka but i found that this is not funny at all she is actually becoming agressive because i let it go so now we are working on her little attitude problem lol. This girl is so proud of herself she thinks she is queen bee and there is no knocking her off her pedastal lol she actually prances yes prances around with her nose in the air (seriously). I love that she is a little ball of fire but sheesh she needs to tone it down a bit lol. she is 5 months old i know that's stil a puppy but Peeka was so easy. Now she does have some great things i love about her she will stay by me outside with out a leash and Peeka will not. He did for the most part but he started wanting to explore so he is on a leash everytime outside now.

No he isn't but he was potty trained fully untill i got Daisy he see's her doing it so he thinks he can and he knows it's wrong because when i find it he runs and hides lol. Daisy really just doesn't care at all. I have her in a baby playpen when i can't watch her and she will pee in there but she makes a lot of noise when she needs to poop and i take her outside i praise praise praise but it doesn't register with her. Her favorite place to pee is right at the food bowl this girl is crazy

I think it has to do with the breeder. Max is the same way. I think he pees more where he feels like it, than where he is supposed to. We got Misha at 11 weeks, she was completely pottied trained with in a month. Piper took a little longer,we got her at 14 weeks, I thought it was the Yorkie in her. If I'm on the PC, 60% Max is under my feet in the morning. The rest of the time he gets up to poo or pee where ever, & to get into mischief.
He just doesn't get it. The girls still go on the potty paper every time, so he is not learning from them. I know when I finally get him trained we are ripping up the carpet. I even found poo under the bed. He is doing better letting me get to goo out of his eyes, and behaves during bath time. Forget the trick thing, I'm lucky if I can get him to focus looking at me. He is a lot harder than the other 2 were. I 1st thought it was because he was a boy, but after reading different threads on gender, I think it is just him.

I agree here with YorkieRose. But on the other end of this, is the breeders point of view. I've had people want to buy a puppy from me, and one of the first things they ask is "Is he/she housetrained". Not what color or how big they are. People sometimes get real funny about not wanting to buy a puppy if it's not housetrained. Mine are paper trained early, and then we move to outside. I've had people say "Oh no. I can't have them go outside" because of one reason or another. Or other people say, "Paper trained? How do I get them to go in a litter box?" Everyone has their own place for pups to go. The one thing I make sure to tell every buyer I get is, that if he/she is trained HERE. But I promise them that when the new kid gets to their new house, things will change. What are the rules in my house, are not necessarily the same rules they'll have in their new home. It's an experience that just happens.

All in all, my experience is that females are harder to train than males. They're very independant and strong willed. Kind of like women, right?? LOL

I got my yorkie at 19 wks and potty trained him in two weeks.he came from a loving home .I was given a 5yr old yorkie and she is still learning.I have a cousin who has a yorkie and he goes every where as well as a cousin who has a girl yorkie and she is potty trained.The only commoniality is we all have yorkies non over 4lbs.I think peeka will need to adjust to the new pup and you must train them seperately. not all dogs teach each other to potty and not all are responsive.I think it has nothing to do with age of pups when you got them.btw all our dog were older at least 12wks when we brought them home. just keep up a routine be patient train the new one in different location until she gets it and it'll be alright. jmo

I also think it has alot to do with their personalities. I got Trixie at about 4 months old and she was trained fast. However, I got Pia when she was older then Trix and she was much more difficult. However, Pia is a very dominant girl with everything and Trixie is very easy going. So I definately think it has to do with the personality and the breeder!!
