| Okay, I've done a search on this and I haven't found what I am looking for exactly... I know that some of you here sew d rings onto your dresses and harnesses. My question is this: How exactly do you sew them on there? My machine is pretty standard, it's a singer simple, from walmart, about 100 bucks. Okay, when I try to sew on the d rings, the needle will inevitably hit the ring, and then the needle breaks. After four d rings, three broken needles and one piece of a needle partially imbedded in my arm, I am at my wit's end. I want to put the d rings on Summerlin's clothes, so that she does not have to wear a harness also, but I'm getting a little frustrated. Can any of you sewers out there give me some advice? I would appreciate it greatly! |

| Well, unless you are trying to sew a D-Ring onto an actual little harness, why not go about it a different way. Tia has a sweater that has a little button hole on the back. When she wears it, I put her harness on first, then put her D-Ring through the button hole and attach the lead to it. I think cutting and stitching a button hole might be easier than risking your life with a D-Ring! If you are trying to attach teh ring to a little vest so that the vest itself is the harness, then I don't have much help to offer.

| I take a strip of the fabric and fold the raw edges in, then fold it in half, to make it the same size as the flat side of the D ring. I sew one end of this to the back of the garment. then I put the D ring on it and fold in the ends and sew it again as close to the D ring as I can get i go over it several times to make sure it will hold. |
