| bag lady my 2 yr old yorkie is a little nervous dog-and i'd like to help get her out and about and for her to be comfortable to go out... wondering if it's too late at this age to get her into one of those cute little bags everyone is carrying...we put her in one as a puppy, but stopped after a while, since she started on-leash... i thot maybe the bag would give her more security in taking her more places with me....???? i cant exactly just take her down to the dog park - any ideas? |

| Any interaction will help. Maybe, to start out, you could have a friend or two come over to your home? That why she would at least be in her environment.

One thing I do find useful if I take my littles girl Mango out in her bag - I place a pig's ear in there with her. I swear it acts as a pacifier, and she is quite happy chewing away while Mommy takes her out and about. I also keep some kibble on me and sneak a few into her bag if she gets antsie. Good luck with your outings and let us know how it goes.

| yeh she is fine when i take her outside for a walk or if i have people over, she is like the excited crazy spazz... but if we go somewhere, she is pretty hesitant, all in the car, in the stores, etc.. even petsmart it takes her a little while to warm up-then she is ok. i just want to be able to take her more places... pigs ear is a good idea... does it stink???? |

I must say that they do work to pacify my little girl when I take her out in her bag, even when I am forced to resort to the "stinkies". Also I notice something else that helps. My one bag has mesh side window, mesh top and front. It seems that when she can look around outside of the bag, she is happier. That way when I/people are talking, she can see us. The bag I refer to I bought at PetCo.
