| Car in my driveway late last night.. watching.. I'm really scared Ok, I've been hearing all about how peoples yorkies are being stolen right out of their homes and I've been worrying about it. But now, I'm really scared. Last night around 4am I woke up because Harley was barking, almost screeching so I hopped up and heard a car pulling into our gravel driveway. I peeked out the window and there were two cars, one with their lights off and the others turned on lowbeam. Nobody got out of the cars they just sat there. It scared the @$^ out of me. I ran and told my parents about it but they said it was probably my brother coming home late from a party and went back to sleep. So I ran downstairs (harley in my arms) and found my brother peeking out his own window! Definately not him. Well, eventually both cars pulled away backwards down our driveway and left. My brother never fell asleep all night. I crawled into bed with Harley scared to death about what might be going on.. You see we live in a very nice home and it's set far back in the woods far enough from the road that it can't been seen. So if someone really did want to come on up nobody would ever notice. Besides the fact that we have atleast 6 or 7 different cars going up and down at all times depending on who's coming over. I don't know but I can't sleep and even my horses and dogs are acting finicky. Harley won't leave my side and Lady and Clovis won't stop watching the door and growling.. And my horses down at the barn refuse to stop pacing the fence line, they've been at it all day. I think I'm going crazy here w/ worry.. I don't know what to do. I'm never going to leave Harley alone again. I used to think that he would be quite safe upstairs in his playpen w/ the doors and windows locked in my own home while I'm at work or play but now I'm wondering.. So many purebred dogs have been disappearing lately and I'm scared half to bits.

| probably nothing... I would give the police a call and tell them what you witnessed. maybe they could patrol the area to put your mind at rest.

| I think some one tried to steal my yrkie today Today i ran into kmart to get something, i called ahead & had it waiting at the service desk. When i came out there was a truck parked very close to mine. I heard something (i was at the back of my suv) I looked down between the vehicles & this old lady says I was trying to get her to bark, then she walked around & tapped on her husbands window & waved him to come in. Well the more I thought about it, their truck was so close almost like she was thinking ok open thedoors & no one could see, then she acted suspicious. I didnt even know she was standing between the vehicles, then her husband not getting out immediately, hmmm. I left her a note on her window that said "Learn how to park & You better not been trying to steal my DOG!!" I wrote her license plate down, I'm caling the police tomorrow. Of coarse I had my doors locked. Tilula was still at the passenger side door looking for me, I think she might have been trying to see if Tilula would come to the window. She is a mommas girl, she wont come to anyone else. She isnt aggressive but she is shy. When I was telling my family my daughter said a man came up to the window once & looked at the dog & was looking around, he couldnt see the kids in the back the windows are tinted, she hit the window & he realized they were in there & walked off. Scary! I would have called the sheriff if I were you & ask them to check it out. I did that once w/the same sitch & the cop told me it was a couple having a affair & that he knew them. They had to have been drunk to just pull in my driveway & think they could do what ever. My kids were very young at the time, it freaked me out. I would get a private drive & trespassers will be prosecuted sign for your drive & next time call the sheriff. |

| That is very scary... If it happens again (and I sure hope it never does)... Call the police - Keep the dispatchers phone number by your phone so you don't dial 911 but talk to dispatcher. I would hope it was some mistake but at 4am??? Were you able to see a license plate number?

| Our home is very private with a very long drive. You cannot see anyone entering the driveway. We put an alarm at the beginning of the drive along with a remote camera. When anyone starts down our drive, the alarm goes off in the house and I can see who is approaching. I feel secure and so do my children. Ask your parents to do the same. |

| I would have called. Better safe than sorry and I never want to be saying, "I never thought it would happen to me," after the fact. WE just filed a report last night. The Hubster found someone watching the house, lights off Friday evening. Long story but we know who it is. He just happened to be coming home and in a borrowed car, so he drove past them and the house and around to find them slowly driving away watching the house. Makes you wonder how many nights they've been out there that we don't know about. |

I couldn't read their tags because they pull straight in and backed out. They were probably wv tags though because they didn't have any tags on the front. I've had people nosing around my car too. Every once in a blue moon for some freak reason I'll have to leave Harley Bear behind in his car seat (Good weather only!! I FREAK out when people leave their dogs out in the car when it's baking or freezing out ) Well, I have learned my lesson because I have caught people peeking in and looking around and even trying the door handle!!!! Ah! Harley was of course going nuts the entire time and I bet if that crazy bugger ever stuck his hand in the door he would have lost it! I think the guy probably pee'd himself when a crazy lady pushed her cart away and ran arms flailing, voice shrilling and fingers pointing in his direction! hehe Yea, I lost it. Bet he won't try it again though! Another time when I went to take Harley out of the car I noticed there were huge handprints all over the window side of the door and door handle (my car had just been washed and waxed). It scared me so badly.. People are absolutely nuts and will do ANYTHING. If I ever caught someone succeeding to steal my baby.. hell hath no fury.. We're talking prison time here.

| Has anyone else noticed in the area where you live that people are now putting gates up at their long drives? I've noticed it more and more around here.

Gates are very common in Georgia where I live. The house I sold last year had a gate at the driveway and I liked it.
