I wanted to do therapy work with a dog for years, but worked up until a year ago. When I retired, one of the first things I did was get Cosmo certified. It is a lot of fun. I have two Bichons and my female, Lacy, doesn't like to be away from home or meet strangers like Cosmo, so she wouldn't be a good therapy dog. She is very sweet, gentle, and calm, but she wouldn't enjoy being at the library with all the kids milling around. One of the little girls colored a picture for Cosmo one day and brought it to him, holding it behind her back. She sat down beside Cosmo and said "Now close your eyes, Cosmo!" She really expected him to close his eyes so she could surprise him with the picture. They talk to him and he acts like he understands every word. Cosmo is a celebrity and he loves every minute of it. The picture is Cosmo in his Santa costume.
