GO for it I just received my MIMI and she is 5 mos old and I think she needs a playmate. I am gone in the day and give much love and kisses when I get home but anotherone for her to play with would be nice . Bite the bullet and join me get another!!!!!!!

Lex was a year old when I got Lulu. I would have to say go with a time frame that you are comfortable with. I dont' find that having two is any more work than having one. It's a blast and in addition to my two and a half year old son and cat they have each other to play with. No problems. There was a bit of jealousy for the first 3 or 4 days that she came home but after that things went like clockwork. I just made sure to show him that she was an addition and not a replacement to the household.

I was also SO worried about Stedman (my little boy) being jealous of the new baby, because as I said, Stedman is a TOTAL mommas boy. And I will tell you for the first couple of days he was pretty jealous - but he LITERALLY warmed up to her in LESS THAN A WEEK - and now they play CONSTANTLY! I swear they just love each other to pieces and are already the best of friends!! And, mind you, I have only had Tatum (my new little female) for 10 days

Stedman is also EXTREMEMLY well behaved and is not a barker. And I too was nervous about all the extra work - because I am LITERALLY doing SOMETHING (whatever it may be) with Stedman ALL the time! Whether it's playing with him, changing his clothes, brushing him, cleaning his teeth, cleaning his ears, bathing him, blow drying him, letting him outside to go to the bathroom - you name it! I am ALWAYS busy doing SOMETHING with that little guy! lol. I honestly didn't know if I would be happy doing everything I do with him, TWICE when we added another Yorkie. But honestly - it's not that bad. Once you have them, you just love them so much and you'll do anything for their little butts

Anyway, I just wanted to reply and tell you to PLEASE not be scared about adding another baby into your lives. For a while there, I was soooo scared and sooo worried about it that it LITERALLY made me SICK at my stomach just thinking about bringing her home

I know that sounds TERRIBLE - but I was just so so nervous and scared because I didn't want Stedman to feel left out or have his feelings hurt

The feelings that I had alone were almost enough to make me back out of the whole situation, but I decided that I was just being overly nervous/scared, and paranoid - and that everything would be fine - and sure enough, it is! They LOVE each other soooo much

Good luck in whatever decision you make - but I did want to point out that you DO sound ALOT like me (almost so much that it's scary LOL) and after only 10 days, my two are doing just WONDERFUL together!

So hopefully that will help put your mind at ease some

Good luck and if you do decided on adding to the family, please post pics for us to see when you get her!

Thanks for the encouragement! I have to say that both of your babies are gorgeous! Stedman is just a little movie star! I joke with Archie that he is the George Clooney of Yorkies he's so handsome! When I see pretty Yorkies I just want to gobble them up! (Even the funny-looking one's are yummy!) I talked to a friend who has two Golden's last night and she talked me down off the ledge, reminding me of the many sleepless night's I had when the little monster was a babe and counseling me to maybe wait six months to a year to let myself recooperate from "Hurricane Archibald!" I think this is good advice -- I don't want to jump in too soon! I think I will, however contact Archie's breeder and let her know that I'm thinking about a girl. I would like to get a new pup from the same breeder (and hopefully the same parents) since Archie was such a wonderful termperament. All I know is that my little guy has really filled a hole in my heart -- why not fill it up just a little more?

I have one little man, and he's my best bud. I'm afraid if I get another one it would break Skippy's heart. What do you guys think?

It won't break his heart. As long as you don't push him to the side because of a new one you should be fine. We have lots of love to give and it's nice for them to have a playmate. I do suggest getting the opposite sex of what you currently have.

I had Lulu's brother over the other night and the other yorkie that is in his house so I had four yorkies all togehter and started itching to maybe get another or maybe another two. My husband saw me watching them play and saw immediately what was on my mind.

I was very nervous also before we got our second yorkie. Reesie was so easy to potty train and so easy going and laid back, but we felt like she needed a play mate. She was a year old when we got Abbie. It has been the best decision we've ever made. Reesie was a little jealous at first, but that didn't last long and now they are best friends. Reesie is almost 11 pounds and Abbie will maybe be 5 1/2 pounds when she's full grown. Reesie is very careful not to play too rough with her. She will just lay down and let Abbie chew on her. It's soooo precious to watch them interact with each other. She's been a little harder to potty train, but she's my lap baby and we adore them both.

Yes you have a little more noise, a few extra messes occasionly, but you get twice the love and twice the fun!

Lillie is a mama's girl, so Baby took to my oldest daughter who is 16, she sleeps with her and when she comes home from school. Baby is in heaven!

I think if you can handle 1, you can handle 2 and your little boy would really love the playmate!
