| Revolution Questions Who Uses Revolution? Do You Still Give Heart Worm Pills? Is It Ok To Use On A 2.8lb Yorkie? Does Ir Protect Against Heart Worms As Good As The Tablets? Thanks For Your Replies. |

| I use Revolution on my three. The heartworm and flea are in the Revolution so don't give more heartworm meds.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Revolution for puppies/kittens (pink box) is the only flea/heartworm med our vet advised because of Ruby's small size. She was 1.65 lbs when she started. I don't know if the heartworm portion works as well as others, I have to take my vets word on that subject. I certainly wouldn't give both.

So.... I am continuing on the Heartguard Plus + Frontline Plus until I use the rest of the Heartguard ... then I am switching to Sentinel + the Frontline Plus.

| [QUOTE=FlDebra;953074]I wanted to switch to Revolution instead of using both a heartworm med and the flea and tick med. But I was just at the vet yesterday and he told me he does not recommend Revolution for dogs. Cats yes, but he said it does not work for dogs intestinal worms. He recommends Sentinel or Interceptor + Advantage or Frontline Plus. He said the Heartguard Plus was okay too but the Sentinel and Interceptor had the added benefit of protecting against Whipworms, even though they were not prevalent. So.... I am continuing on the Heartguard Plus + Frontline Plus until I use the rest of the Heartguard ... then I am switching to Sentinel + the Frontline Plus.[/QUOTE MY VET GAVE HANNAH AVDANTAGE FOR FLEAS BECAUSE OF HER SIZE, 2.8 LBS. SHE GAVE HER INTERCEPTOR FOR HEARTWORMS AND I THINK THAT WAS BECAUSE SHE WAS SMALL TOO BECAUSE SHE GAVE MY LAB PUPPY SENTINEL. EVERYTHING IS SO CONFUSING. ONE VET SAYS ONE THING AND ANTOHER VET SAYS SOMETHING ELSE. I AM NOT TOO CRAZY ABOUT PUTTING A CHEMICAL ON HER THAT ABSORBS INTO THE SKIN INTO THE BLOOD STREAM AND LASTS FOR 1 MONTH...THINK ABOUT IT...IT COULDN'T BE TOO GOOD FOR THEM...I AM AFRAID OF SOME TYPE OF NEUROLOGICAL EFFECT. I READ ABOUT THE HOLISTIC BRANDS AND THEY DIDN'T GET VERY GOOD REVIEWS....BUT I DON'T WANT HER TO HAVE FLEAS AND TICKS OR INTESTINAL WORMS EITHER. I HAVE HEARD ALOT OF GOOD THINGS ABOUT REVOLUTION FROM OTHER YT MEMBERS. I HAVE READ THAT IT WORKS BETTER THEN ADVANTAGE AND FRONTLINE FOR FLEAS. |

| I just switched to Revolution from Interceptor+Frontline and this is the first month EVER that they haven't gotten fleas. And, it's cheaper than buying 2 products. So, I'm sticking to the Revolution for sure! |

| Revolution I asked the vet today about Revolution since Annie is so small ((16.2 oz at 12 weeks)). The vet said that he doesn't recommend it for dogs that get bathed alot since he feels the heartworm part could be compromised. We live near alot of water, so mosquitos are everywhere, I want her to be protected. Does anyone have any opinions? Kasey & Annie |

| Revolution Revolution is a great product, we reccomend it all the time. But there is a new product out called Advantage multi. My boss reccomends it but I hate it. It says right on the package that you have to "watch" your dog for at least 1/2 hour to make sure he doesn't try to lick it off and make sure you keep the animal away from kids for at least an hour!!!!!!!!! HUH??? If it's that toxic, NO WAY would I EVER reccomend it to anyone! So if your vet tells you about it ask to read the bos first and than make your decision. Revolution is MUCH better in my humble vet tech opinion. Just please beware!!!!

| For Those Who Use Revolution What do you use for the prevention of roundworms, hookworms and whipworms then? Do you use Revolution + Sentinel or Interceptor? My vet was adamant that the Revolution does not control dogs intestinal worms. And I do not see anything on their site that hints that they do either. I do not think I would want to go without worm protection. We get wild animals through here all the time. Even though our yard is fenced we have had squirrels, possum, armadillo, and raccoon sneak in the back. In the front yard which is not fenced we have had an amazing bunch of visitors! A buffalo escaped from a local buffalo ranch, a wild boar, deer, a peacock, pig, cow and horses from neighboring farm. You never know what will show up! Not to mention all the dogs that owners allow to run loose or just turn out in the morning to do their business. So I think I need to go for full protection. BTW my dogs have never had a flea with the Frontline Plus. And we live in Florida where fleas area huge problem.
