I considered this for my boys but didn't go with it. I know some people swear by EVO but I think the protein level is too high also. I asked about this at 2 different shops and both of them told me they didn't think it was a good idea for a small dog to have that much. Also, one store employee told me she thought it was too new to really know much about what affects the higher protein levels can produce in small dogs and she wouldn't feed it to her dogs until she knew more. Some will argue that the protein source is what it's all about and if it's a good source then it's fine but it just seems too high for my comfort level regardless of where the protein comes from...but that's just my opinion.

That's why I didn't go with it. Protein was too high.
I went with Natural Balance Organic and that protein is a little lower than
it should be but it is still rated very high. I just add chicken to his meals
2x a day to make up for it. He loves it.

chester loves the timberwolf with the elk and salmon it about 26 or 26% about the same as the solid gold wee bit, all the high protein ones are good they are all meat no grain so hence alot of protein, maybe if they were k-9 dogs huh...

REALLY? I feed mine Innova EVO and I didn't know that the protein was too high. I just knew it was very high quality food. Zoe has had alot of stomach issues and I tought high protein would harden stool?
Should I switch him over to regular innova or another brand all together?
I tried Merrick, wellness, california natural but I stuck with innova evo.
Is the high protein bad for my baby?
