Donating YT 10K Club Member | This post reminds of me pinching the human baby when they're sleeping, cause if they're screaming then they're ok Trace sleeps so hard sometimes, you can literally pick him up and he's like a wet rag.....head and feet dangling |

| I always think Coco isn't breathing because she's so still and quiet when she sleeps. It gets to the point where once she falls asleep in my arms, I can put her anywhere, and pet her anywhere and she doesn't even flinch. I worried about her but now I know she's just a deep sleeper |

| Gizmo goes into deep sleeps, where he starts twitching and jerking and makes a squeaking noise.

| YES!! The same thing here!! I was soo scared a few times because it looks like they arent breathing so I will touch their chest and you can hardly feel the heart beating or the chest moving as they breath. Glad to know I am not the only one. Did you ever think they felt colder too? My yorkies always seem so warm during the day but sometimes at night when feel them laying next to me their body temp doesnt seem as warm, then I check the chest and feel nothing then I am all of a sudden wide awake lol, wake up my baby they look at me like "whats going on Mom?" |

| Umm, 10 years ago last March we lost a baby to SIDS. Doesn't matter who it is adult, child or dog (sometimes strangers), if I can't SEE them breathing, I'm shaking them. It is real scary. We have an older brother of the little girl who died, he was a year and a month older than her and he used to lay so still in the playpen. His eyes are such a dark brown that I couldn't tell if he was using them or if he had died too. BTW, he's a healthy 11 year old now. But I used to see him and wonder if he was breathing and get closer and see his eyes open but not moving and it would scare the he** out of me and I'd go running over and grab him and he'd just look at me. He wouldn't move, even if I called his name. So, if I'm parnoid on the subject of not being able to see people (includes my babies) breathe, I think that's understandable. But I think that as women it is natural for us to panic when we think we see something like that. Well, maybe "panic" is a little strong but I can't think of a better word for how we feel when we see them "not breathing". Sylvia |

| Sylvia, I am so sorry to hear you went through such a loss. ((hugs)) SID's has always been something I've feared, my cousin lost her baby to SID's about 5 years ago and it weighs really heavy on my heart. That is why I panic when I see my furbabies sleeping a little too heavy. |
