| I'm with Calgal. Don't buy a puppy sight unseen. That's asking for trouble. There are plenty of Yorkies available in CA, so check the breeder board for recommendations and such. Here's a thread with links that outline what a responsible breeder looks like, and questions to ask to determine if the breeder you're dealing with is reputable: http://www.globalpaw.com/dog-breedin...ease-read.html The links aren't breed-specific for Yorkies, but the guidelines still apply.

| Welcome to YT Sorry about your initial Yorkie experience. Good luck on finding the perfect baby for you. I, too, strongly recommend finding one in your area. It is sad but there are a lot of scammers out there just looking for us! |

| Five hundred dollars, don't blame you. I wouldn't want to lose that amount.I hope she does get prosecuted to the fullest. Someone needs to stop this from going on. I feel so bad for you, thinking & waiting for your little one to come, & then nothing. Keep us up to date. If you need help finding a breeder I'm sure their are people in here that can help. By the way our puppy arrived last night. He was as clean as a whistle. In a nice crate, with a blue bed inside. I'm very happy with this breeder. He was 3 times what you paid, but he is worth every penny. Good luck to you finding another.

| Hi, I am sorry to hear about your experience. There are a lot of reputable breeders out there that do ship. Always ask for ref. and most definitely ask for the name and phone # of their VET. Then CHECK those ref. If they are doing things right, they will have a close working relationship with their Vet. I ship puppies all the time and have not had a problem. I use 2 different airlines and go for the one with the shortest flight and layover time. I will not ship a Yorkie under 10 weeks and prefer to wait until 12 weeks. In short there are honest reputable breeders that do a good job. CHECK REF. Good luck. Pam |

| that stinks.. take your time and look more into the person youre dealing with..I searched breeders for 2 months before locking onto Mojo..The sellers were actually afraid of being scammed by me. Seeing they had dealt with people claiming they wanted to buy...we kept in contact everyday, even after I picked him up at the airport. it's Almost been a year and I still send them pix of him.. Wanted to add IMO there is nothing wrong with having your pup flown in..MoJo had a straight flight, no layovers from OH 2 VA.. hope you have better luck next time. |
