				   | Hi all. I joined the a while back and rescued a yorkie about 3 1/2 weeks ago. But I'm embarrassed to say I haven't been online much...all my free time is spent on Spoiled Maltese (cause I have two malts). I've got all three dogs eating Solid Gold "Hund-n-Flocken" dry food which I leave out. Merrick (Turducken) canned food which I put a little boiled chicken on top of for dinner. Tinker, the yorkie, has been having lots of ....gas Is this not good food for yorkies? What do you suggest? They swap dishes so it's going to be hard to feed them different foods! But I'll do what's best for this little guy. Thanks for your thoughts!

				   | aawww..that is such a nice thing you did. I used to feed my yorkie merrick and I still do (the can puppy plate) but I feed him Innova EVO everyday. I only feed canned food once a week.

				   | Gas is pretty typical when switching foods, so I'd give it at least a month and see if anything changes. The brand you're feeding is better than what most others have mentioned. Bless you for rescuing.

				   | Every yorkie is an individual just as people are, therefore, different kinds of food affect each yorkie differently. Try to stick with foods that don't have corn in them. Many yorkies tend toward allergies and corn is a big culprit. There are many good dry foods out there. We have a special liking for Natural Balance at our house. Good luck and please keep us up to date on your special new addition. You can look at this site and see the ingredients listed on the different brands of food at the bottom of each page: http://www.petfooddirect.com

| YT 3000 Club Member | look up dog food analysis on the internet and they rate foods from 1-6 6 being the best, and the rc yorkie food is not rated very good, I was surprised since chester used to be on it, it is the corn gluten meal, cellulose, and beet pulp and the brewers rice not of good, I also thought is was good food, I was surprised to read about it, check it out |

				   | Gas can be caused by a fast change of food, feeding a food with too many carbohydrates, feeding a food with a fiber that doesn't agree with your dog, fast eating, intestinal worms, too many unfriendly bacteria in the gut. Maybe try some yogurt? Change his food? Mine eats Canidae and its a good food with a good price and he likes it. I have also heard food that contains ascorbic acid and have passed a certain period of storage, will cause gas too.
