| I agree that when you change a dog's food they can tend to get gas until they get adjusted to the change. If your other two dogs are used to a certain food then I wouldn't switch just yet. Give it a little more time and see if your Yorkie adjusts. You don't want to have your dogs on different foods, especially if they are free feeding. It's impossible to keep them from each other's bowls. I feed my Malt and my Yorkie Innova Evo dry during the day and then early evening a little Merrick's canned with a few pieces of cut-up chicken. The Evo was the only food that I tried that they BOTH liked. All the suggestions you have recieved here on food are good ones. There are a lot of great quality dog foods out there now. |

innova evo has 42% protein or something like that. i am switching morgan to it right now. I have her on a mix of half her old food and half innova evo. Since there is so much protein i'm extending the switching period so she'll have more time to get used to it. Some dogs do great on it, and some find that its too much protein and they can't handle it. It all depends on the dog.

| That's what happened - I'm sure of it! I switched over too quickly. I have since changed him back to the original dry food he came with. This time I'll start to add the new food really slowly. It's going much better now

hope it all works out. i agree that gas is normal when you switch foods but once you have had him on the same food for several days, i think it should wear off. if not, then maybe there is too much corn in the food ???? I have always had great danes and if they have gas...BAD NEWS!!! LOL so we avoided food with any kind of corn in it and it really helped. so look at the ingredients. good luck. and congrats on the new baby. hope it all goes great and you should have a pat on the back for giving this baby a great home!!
