| ![]() His agression issues are due to the fact that he does not respect you as the pack leader. Which probably also explains is marking in the house. Obiously he has never been properly trained and he thinks he is the boss. You need a little dog whisperer. Neutering might help but it is not going to resolve these issues. The onldy way to do that is to learn how to make yourself the pack leader. He is not delibertely misbehaving, he just has not been properly trained. Dogs do not do things to get even, they act out of instinct. A submissive dog will never instinctively bite his leader, because he knows better. And a leader would never allow biting. He should have been taught his place in the pack from the very first day, if he had, he would be a well behaved dog and you would not be finding it necessary to replace him If you don't correct this "fault" in yourself, you will have behvior issues with any dog that you have. I suggest you get the Dog Whisperers DVD before you do anything else. Also you say you are allowed to have three dogs, but your husband wants one of his own. Who do the other two dogs belong to? |

| ![]() i do watch the dog whisper and have used some tactics but truefully i dont believe in the dog whisper. i think it is a tv show. i dont believe a person can change a dog in one session like he does on tv. and i have tried showing im the pack leader. i have stood over food and even growled, i did break his food aggression, every once in a while he has a problem with the other dogs so i feed them all dinner separatley and still leave a large bowl out with food for every one. i also agree that neuturing doenst "fix everything" it helps with the marking some. my moms males never marked, but remmie is a different story but that is why he wears the belly bands so marking isnt an issue for me |

If you watch the dog whisperer then you will realize it is YOU that needs to change, not the dog. He does not respect you as the pack leader. the dog will change his behavior when you change yours. and NO it doesn't hsppen in one day. Cecil teachs the people, if they don't change then the dog won't change. The dog responds to Cecil because they respect him because he behaves in a manner that says "I'm the Boss" and the dogs don't question it.

| ![]() i have no problem from my other pets so oviously i show them im the pack leader, but what did i not do the same with remmie. remmie is the only one i have had to crate train, and fuss at. my others dogs dont mark, dont need to be crated at all, dont get in the trash and dont bite. honestly i think im very strick on remmie and he should see my as the bos but for some reason he has an attitude problem when it comes to trash and sometime food. other than that he sits, comes, lays, rolls over. etc... |

| ![]() I think you should get him neutered and find him a new home. Putting belly bands on him may not be a big deal to you but it might someone else.

| ![]() Tammy I know that right now you are really upset with what Remmie has done and you came here looking for some comfort and understanding. From what I have read everyone is trying to do that without being hard on you. Sometime stuff is hard to hear when your angry and hurt. Yes the Dog Whisperer is a TV show and I am positive there is more to it in real time then we see in a 20 minute segment. He does do follow up and a whole lot more that we don't see. Some time the simplist solutions don't take ALL DAY and $300 to solve. It is about having a open mind. I do believe his techniques work if you try, what else do you have to lose at this point? Besides rehoming a companion you love???You however have stated you don't have the money for a trainer there for we are trying to give you help that is free. You don't seem to be listening and maybe that because your hand is throbbing and your mad at Remmie. Sit back and calm down (hell have a drink! ![]() |

They are just like children, you don't have to beat them to get them to respect you, you just have to behave in a manner that they respect. And I told you NO the dog whisperer does not FIX the dogs in one session because it isn't the dog that is broken. It is the people. If the people don't change, then the dog won't either. Your other dogs may have different personalities. Remmi is not as submissive. Send him to me. I know I can handle him.
