whats a good brand of dog food????? |
I am going to try to find one that doesn't do animal testing. I have just ordered samples from http://www.healthypetnet.com/Healthy...aspx?realname= Go there and have a look around. After I found out about that Iams thing, I am actively trying to avoid any product that brings harm to animals in any way. |
I think we should discuss this on another thread. Start one in Yorkie Health and Diet and we can go further. |
Well I am feeding my puppies Iams right now but I am going to get another brand because that made me sick to know that thats happening to those poor dogs  I'm just wondering what kind is good for them?? |

I thought I saw on here somewhere, that someone said they lived close to Brushy Creek. they had a google search. Have you gone out there? |

  IMO .... the breeder at least has opportunity to study the line and try to breed for quality!! The broker is basically buying a "pig in a poke" by knowing nothing whatsoever about the ancestry of the pup and is an uncaring scumbag interested in nothing but the money!! :( |
Jeff Dane I just got back from seeing my kids this weekend and got a couple of email from Jeff Dane. He asked me to post the first one and I am going to go ahead and post the second one too. I asled him if he was sure he wanted my to post it and he retrurned my email and said yes. After talking to him in a couple email I am leaning towards agreeing with Villette on this one. Here are his emails. I hate to say this because I want to see the best in people, but many of the people posting on Yorkie talk are like animal terrorist. Talking about getting guns, saying people should be shot, posting things they have no first hand knowledge about just to get attention. For what, because some people run a legal business in America that they don't like, they don't agree with? Why would they spend so much time on just a few select small breeders when literally there are thousands involved? Why don't they focus their efforts on big puppy brokers like Hunt or Lambriar? Places that buy thousands of puppies from puppy mills, then sells them to pet stores. These are the places that keep puppy mills in business. Those are the places that fuel this sick puppy, puppy mill mentality that makes the Yorkietalk pack taste blood in the water. You posters are like Piranha's, one taste of blood and none of you can control your mouths no matter who you libel. You would not continue this behavior if your name, address, and phone number were included in your posts. There will come a day when you will not be able to hide behind a screen name where you think you have immunity. PETA has killed hundreds of kittens and puppies and was caught on tape doing it, dumping their little bodies in dumpsters,,,, now there is the outrage on Yorkietalk? Many Asian countries kill, skin and eat dogs, where is the outrage on Yorkietalk? It makes me ill to see this on the news. Here, there are over 1.5 Million dog breeders listed on Google, why does the Yorkietalk group only attack a few; http://www.google.com/search?q=dog+b...e7&rlz=1I7HPIA Once this Fox 26 news person is gone and he will be after sweeps month, the chatter will die down. He right now he is Yorkietalk's shinning light, their champion and that is also how he sees himself. He lives for the attention he is getting off the Yorkietalk website, but this will only be temporary. He can only do so much to legal industry where thousands of people are employed, he will not be making anyone close their doors, that is the job of the USDA. He is just using the Yorkietalk posters to get the hype he needs for his current news piece which in time will also fade away. Jeff Dane |
Jeff Dane #2 And here is the second one. After reading it I can see that like he says he isnt a monster and does do the best for the dogs he has. I have never been there so I am trusting that he is telling the truth and will give him the benefit of the doubt. It seems he has been checked out by numerous authorities and has been given the thumbs up by all of them so that being said, here is his second email. Yes, please post it. I am not a monster, I hate to see videos of poor animals stuck in cages all their life's, many never having human interaction. I saw the puppy mill video link on U-tube and it just made me sick. I agree totally with you about Brushy Creek, but to lump all breeders in their court is wrong. To say I'm a puppy mill when I don't even had 1 complaint with the BBB, I just had the SPCA, the County Humane officer and the Sheriffs dept. out here 2 weeks ago,,, they said it was the best kennel they had ever seen. I place pups to new owners right here in the middle of my kennel operation, I even have people sit right down on the kennel floor to play with the pups. My floors stay that clean. Thank you Barb, I hope on the bigger scale of animal abuse we all can make a difference. Jeff Dane |
I don't know about you, but I don't think Jeff Dane is a bad guy at all. I've never been out to his place nor do I know anything about him and his kennel but he seems to me like a decent guy, I went to his website and his puppies look really cute and clean (he even has cute bows on there head) So I really think we should all just stick to the brushy creek puppymill subject and not include this Jeff Dane guy. |
I am with you on that Woofsheperd...I don;t think Jeff Danes is a bad guy either and personally his puppies look adorable! I love the tinies, teacups, itty bitties or whatever you want to call them . I also love the bigger teapots . It is Bushy Creek that really has the complaints. |
What kind of food is good for puppies? Hence I am in the middle of trying to figure this out, I previously had Iams until I saw that link and I will no longer be feeding them that crap, Please if anyone has any suggestions before tomorrow I'd like to know so I can start my babies on the right food. |
Are you all kidding me??? He sells puppies for up to $10,000 - Come on! I don't know about the conditions there - never claimed to - but that is a ridiculous price and you all know it! That isn't a reason to shut him down, no... but it isn't right. :thumbdown He is right about one thing... Hunte Corp is the biggest puppy mill/broker there is and they do need to be shut down. Have you been to their site? Did you read how they let puppies die in a semi-trailer? :thumbdown |

Here's some more recent complaints on Brushy Creek This was found on www.backpage.com under pet forums (one of which I started and some more people starting to come forward) My husband and I drove several hundred miles to Houston to pick up a Cavalier. The one we had chosen couldn't walk and the woman told us she had probably played too rough. (Ha.) We looked at 5 more before we found one that looked moderately healthy and didn't have a limp. We should have left and let them have our $600 deposit which is what they said would happen if we didn't take a dog. While we were waiting for the "paper work" a little yorkie came into the room. It was obviously ill. The woman told us it had heart disease. When we picked our dog up to hold her, we noticed a hernia. BC told us they would reimburse us the cost of having that fixed. Of course, they did not. They totally ignored our correspondence with the vet bill, etc. When I emailed them, I was told David was out of the country (as always) and that IF they had said that they would pay. They had a copy of the paper where it was written in her handwriting. We have never received a dime. When our dog was less than 6 months, her hip blew out. We spent several thousand dollars on that surgery. She will also need knee surgery. She has had other surgery to correct another birth defect. I have just chalked the whole experience up to rescuing an abused pup. Those people are horrible. I would love to join in a class action suit. They should be shut down and punished. They are from New Mexico... |
And yet another........ a "top three" worst experience -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, I had a horendous experience with this kennel a couple of years ago. I did buy an ill dog, nursed him back to moderate health over a four month period, and returned him to the kennel on the advice of my veterinarian. This dog nearly died twice, by the way. The entire experience was devasting, and Brushy Creek couldn't have cared less. I also paid for nearly all the health care he received and flew him back to those SOB's at my expense (even though I was "promised" reimbursement for all of it). After much badgering of them, I received a very small stipend from the owner's sister-in-law, who did so I believe unbeknownst to her brother-in-law. I then flew to Houston, and hand picked another dog, whom I still have. He is healthy, but I believe that was pure luck. Dealing with them was one of the most horendous and traumatic experiences of my life. Finnegan |

Like many ppl have said here a Puppy mill is a Puppy mill is a Puppy mill. Whats the difference? Pick your stance and stay with it. It appears there are many who have had bad experience with him also. HMMMM I hope its not a double standard again? |

Did you get access to his kennels? The reason I asked is because someone asked for photos of the kennels. He told them to "have a nice life". I am just curious. |

Well shoot I can put nice pics on my web site too. but that does not mean My 500 yorkies I feed to Albert aren't living in cages! How do you know there are not 100 of complaints? I have found a few and I have not even started. But Mr. Dane does have a very valid point. Why go after small fish when there are huge fish in the ocean go after the real puppy mills (i.e. Pet stores) |
