Since Brushy Creek's owner is now following this topic he would SEE that people are trying to contact him. Gee wonder why he wouldnt respond to someone who had bought a puppy from him???

Hi....the first time I clicked on this, the pertinent info did not come up. The second time, complaints about Brushy Creek did appear. Maybe this happened to you too....try clicking again. I think Crissy posted it because you were asking for REAL stories from people who had negative experiences with Brushy Creek.

Welcome to YT. You don't need to feel defensive about where you got your dogs. Many of us here purchased dogs from places or people that we since found out were not the best. But all dogs are loved and accepted here. Live and learn. That said, I'm glad for you that your experience was a good one.

However, you have to understand that Brushy Creek, as with Jeff Dane's kennel/mill in NE TX, has a big reputation among those in the know. I personally have talked to many people who received sick dogs from Jeff Dane, who have never set foot in Yorkie Talk. Just because people aren't here posting on this thread, doesn't mean they're not OUT THERE.

And in particular, esp. since Brushy Creek breeds so many different kinds of dogs, not all their customers would be on a yorkie board. Or not everyone shares their personal experiences on the net. But the stories are out there, and we hear them....and once you hear so many stories saying the same thing, it gets to be hard to pass off as a fluke.

Again, I'm happy that you personally did not have a bad experience.

There have been threads on here dating back 2-3 years with people coming on and giving their experiences with BC. So far you make it 1 in a row as far as people coming on to say how happy you are and how great they are. Why wait until today to post here? I am not saying you dont have just as much right to be here as the next guy but why havent you posted before. Why are you so eager to let us all know about your wonderful little dogs that you have 2 pictures of and cant send anymore because your kids are in them How did you hear about this forum to begin with? Only honest answers will be appreciated.

This is the first I have said on here and I suppose for the reason that I am new to owning a yorkie and posting here. I dont have any outside information good or bad about Bushy Creek. No personal experience and so I just sit back and listen, but I have to say to you....

Why are you getting so defensive? So you bought 2 puppies and you love them and you are happy. Good. Say it. And be done. Why do you feel you have to argue the point over and over. You had a good experience perhaps others had a bad one?

Now unless you are Mr. Moore himself you wouldnt know if every person who bought a puppy there was happy.

I bought my puppy from Posh Puppies in Tarzana CA. Now my little Buddah is the joy of my life. He is healthy thank goodness and seems to be adjusting well, but in all honesty after learning all I have after owning him I will never buy there again. It was a great smoke and mirrors with them. The place was clean to anyone walking in and the puppies are cute. I now realize they maybe are not as great as I once thought. I've had a few people tell me they were not very happy (sick puppy) or they saw things that were not right(unhealthy and cruel living conditions).

Hearing that about the place I bought him from doesnt make me any less happy that I bought him. And I love him just the same, but knowing means not buying there again because I dont want to support that.

You may be happy as pie with your puppy and that is great. But even if 1 of 10 people had a bad experience that isnt good enough. These are living beings we are dealing with here....and in my opinion there is no room for error when dealing with a life.

Be happy you 2 healthy and happy babies adn accept the fact that just because you were happy doesnt mean everyone was.

Thank you for letting us know there are some healthy yorkies coming from bushy creek. It is good to know that.

I have only had my Yorkies for a couple of months. i bought Fantasy in November, and Eternity in December.
Anyone who knows me, will tell you I have a nack for walking into Sh**. I did a search for Yorkie forums, I am a in a Boxer group in MSN. I should have kept my search in those groups. Instead i just did a search, Yorkie forum Texas. This forum came up. I was going to try to get in a group that could give me better in sight on owning a Yorkie. i want mine to have the best mom. To be that I need to know everything about them! I had no idea what i was walking into. I happen to see the kennel name on here that I bought mine from. So here i go........walking into sh**. Never did I want to! I just want to be a good Yorkie owner. I wanted everyone to know I had nice experience with Brushy Creek. I wanted everyone to know how beautiful and healthy and happy my babies are. I am now defending myself. I will not apologize for having had a good experience at that kennel, nor will I apologize for be lucky in getting good healthy babies. I will say sorry for the few ppl who have had a bad time. I will not say sorry for being happy with Brushy Creek. i am no longer going to defend myself, my babies, or Brushy Creek. It is very obvious you want to be mean to them and me!

I guess I feel the need to stand up for them, because the things I am reading here I never saw. I feel like people are lying about the way that it really is. After being here, I called them and asked if I could come look at all the babies in there. they told me yes. They told me what all I had to do before they would actually let me in the kennel area. So I am going to do this, and go see all of them. ui want to know that all of this is not true!

Please calm down everyone. This thread was started so that people who had had experiences with BC would have a place to post. We have no way of knowing if ValB is who she say she is, but for that matter you have no way of knowing that I am who I say I am.

The only thing I have going for me is my history of posting on this site. I purchased my girl from a less than reputable place. When I found YT, if there'd been a thread about the place she came from, you better believe I would've posted. That's only human. If I'd been attacked after my first post or two, I wouldn't have stayed.

If she is sincere, we don't want to scare her away, we can always use more loving yorkie owners. If she's not, she'll go away when this thread dies down regardless of whether or not you bully her.

Maybe I'm naive, but I say, lets give her the benefit of the doubt.

So please, if you have a story about Bushy Creek, share it.

If you want to support Dave (the reporter) go for it!

But can we stop trashing poor ValBand let the investigative reporters do their jobs??? I'm sure Dave can determine which stories have a basis in fact and which do not.

I was even more amazed as I didn't realize just how many breeds are advertised being bred at Bushy Creek! For those that haven't counted, there are 12 that I could easily find. Soft Coated Wheatens, Havanese,Coton de Tulear,Shih Tzu,Westies, Cairn Terriers, Cavaliers, English Bulldons, French Bulldogs, Greyhounds, Jack Russels and Yorkier and possibly retrievers. In my search, I did find 1 good review, written TODAY. Take the number of breeds and just imagine how many brood bitches and stud dogs and puppies....Like someone said, it doesn't have to be dirty to be a puppy mill. And, my question to them about how many dogs they had was never answered.

I don't think that anyone is trying to be mean to you, but you yourself have stated that you don't know all there is to know about your yorkies and I think that you are also lacking information on what good breeders look like. I think at one time a lot of us have been in your shoes and bought a puppy without really truly knowing if it came from a good breeder or not.. I know I have. But I don't defend the puppy mill where mine came from.. I'm saddened I didn't know better and won't ever do it again.

You are right, I do not know everything about Yorkies. I am here trying to find all that out. I have been reading alot. I am not going to leave because of all this other. This is a great site with all kinds of information. I still do not feel the need to bash Brushy Creek, and probably never will. I am happy with what I got from them. I can only base that on my personal experience with them. I will say again I am sorry to the ppl who really did get sick dogs from them. I am still going to take the time to go look at the kennel. I f I find out different, I will be the first to let you all know! Part of me is scared to go see, the other part wants to know my babies came from a good place. Either way....I promise when I take the time to do it, you will all be the first to know!

valbholmes - stick around - this is a great group of people. You did walk into the tail end of things but it's nothing against you that you bought dogs from them - I'm glad you have nice yorkies !!

You really are the first to come post something good and I'm all for it - there's enough documented by the people who were hurt - NO one wants to read about people with sick dogs - but it doesn't mean because you bought a dog there, you can't come here and talk. You can. I'm glad to see someone say something good for a change about them. They sell 'hundreds' of dogs - (his words) so it's not hurting his business any & shedding light on the people who bought sick dogs will help the future dogs of Brushy Creek.

Val, I hope you stay too. You are just being asked these questions because of the timing of your post. I know exactly how you feel because my first post here was to defend the breeder I got 2 of my dogs from. I hope if anyone ever has a bad experience with me that someone would come on to defend me as I did and you did. I stuck around because as I got to be more familiar with the posters here and the type of people many of them are I understood why they questioned my intentions with it being my first post. I have seen many people come on pretending to be someone else just to praise themselves but I do believe you are sincere and there is so much to learn here if that is your intention. You will see that the people here are very protective of this breed and you may not like what alot of them have to say but many of them would do anything for you. So that being said welcome to YT and we look forward to hearing more from you in the future.
