| Hello from Ohio!! We are Jimm & Pat and we live in east central Ohio. Thank you for allowing us to join your forum. We haven't had a Yorkie for around five years now. We lost our Yorkie, who weighed 1 pound exactly, at one year of age. Mickey was the cutest little purse pup you could ever imagine. He would sit on his little bottom and paw the air for you to pick him up. He lived to be in our laps or be a little clown. Sadly, we were told we should have him neutered by our vet. He never made it through surgery. To say we were devastated would be to put it mildly. I don't think I would ever consider neutering a tiny puppy like he was...it's just too dangerous. So for those of you who have tiny little Yorkies, be aware of the dangers of surgery. I know he was well below the standard for size, and consequently his size probably confused the vet on just how much anesthetic he could endure. Anyway, we would love join your discussion groups...and, if you're wondering, no...we were never able to bring another Mickey into our lives. But, we can talk about it now...and that's probably the start of another love affair. Thanks for listening!!

| Our first yorkie was 12 when we lost him. He was our child hood pet that was apart of our family. When I got married and moved away my mother wanted another dog. It was hard at first looking for another dog, but getting another puppy was like a breath of fresh air for the family. After one day, she was glad that she got another dog. We still have photos of our fist dog and we talk about him all the time. If your life permits, you should consider bringing another one into your life. Yorkie's will make you smile eveyday! Mine is 8 and she is my baby!!! |

| Welcome to Yt, there are a lot of good people here. I am so sorry for your loss, and he sounds like he was a wonderful pet. Please post pics when you can. This forum is good for helping remember the past and start thinking about the future with another yorkie. Kodak is 2 yrs old at 3.5lbs, you wouldn't believe how many times I put off neutering because of stories I've heard. They say the Dr doesn't have to use Anesthetic to put them under they can get a shot. Don't know how true that is, I am hoping to have him neutered before I pick up my new yorkie. Please post wonderful things you remember about your little guy. We love to read about them. :

| Welcome. You've certainly come to the right place. I'm so sorry that your little guy didn't make it We lost our Starr in October, she was only 3 She bled to death after surgery to remove an intestinal blockage. I know your pain all too well, and my heart goes out to you When my husband insisted on getting our Luna immediately afterward, I fought and refused, and was SO upset with him for getting her. She almost died on us as well, and BOY did we bond. I truly believe that having her has helped me to heal so much! So glad you found us!!!!

| Hello Pat and Jim. I'm from Cincinnati. I am so sorry for your loss. I have 6 Yorkies. My smallest one is age 3 and she is 2 lbs 9 oz. My largest one is 11 lbs. Each time I had them spayed or neutered it was a worry. Your Yorkie can never be replaced or will be forgotton. My newest Yorkie age 1 now (Carson) came from a very reputable breeder near Detroit. If you ever want to get another Yorkie please let me know. She does not breed "tinys" but does breed excellent quality pups. Janie |

| Welcome to YT Northeastern Ohio says hey! I'm sorry for your loss. Too bad you didn't find YT five years ago. When I lost my Reggie, a year ago this coming April 4th, she left me with 5 baby girls eight days old to hand raise. I was determined to see those little babies grow up. It wasn't easy as I couldn't grieve my loss, except for here on YT. Writing about Reggie, her life, and the girls: Love, Faith, Hope, Charity and Star, helped me to get through and YT members were my support group. I couldn't have got through it without them. Reggie was my first yorkie and my baby even though she was 7 years old. We kept Love and Star and the other 3 of my miracle girls are with YT members. We're even talking about getting together for the girls birthday. I hope we can break you down to give into puppy love.
