| Good News and Bad News.. Bad news first: My middle yorkie Carter, was hit by a car last night. He is now at the vet and they are trying to save him. I am so sad... I got him at 5 weeks old and he will be 6 this month. I dont know how its going to turn out but I do know I am so short on funds and I cant keep him there for much longer. In 24 hours my bill already exceeds $500. Please keep him in your thoughts.. Good News: The last puppy I had from Crickets litter is the one I fell in love with from the get go. Well I still have him and my hubby said I could NOT have him but I am deciding to keep him anyways! LOL So, I need help naming this little guy. I already have Charlie, Carter, and Cricket but I need a name for him. We have been calling him Joey but that was my 4 yr olds idea when we hadnt planned on keeping him. I would like suggestions from all you ladies! Oh and does anyone here have more than 3 Yorkies that live inside? My hubby said I am nuts wanting to have 4! LOL

| Hi. I'm so sorry for poor Carter. I hope he recovers. I have four Yorkies. Well, three Yorkies and one Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie). I have no problem. The only problem with owning four of any dog is vet expenses. If funds were tight I don't think I'd take on four. I'd want to be able to provide for the ones I had without worry. Remember, accidents or illness pop up suddenly and it does get expensive. Just something to consider. In closing I will say that as far as physical care at home goes really one or four there is no big difference. They all play together with me, sleep together, and eat together. The biggest thing is establishing a routine and once that's set it's cake Again, I hope Carter comes through alright. My oldest is now ten years old and I'd be devestated. Best of luck. Elaine |

| I really hope Carter pulls through this. I would be so devestated!! Please let us know how it goes. That is one of my worst fears!! About naming your pup... I had a foster pup once that we named and I begged my daughter to let us name him Joey, but she wouldn't do it!! She was stuck on calling him Chewy I think your little man looks more like a Theo or a Joey...maybe even Baxter.

| I hope Carter pulls through and you can figure out a way to find the funds to help him. Maybe your vet can work with you on the financial part? As for a name for the new baby, Casey would fit with the other names.

| Sending Carter a prayer that he get better soon. I have four yorkies and an old chow-mix that turned 17 years this month. Only draw back to having so many is the vet bills. Like Jrsygal37 said I would think twice before adding a 4th will funds being tight and Carter being hurt.

| Okay nevermind this post then. I am FULLY aware of costs and I am just strapped now but now always this way. I do not have $3000 or more to give to the vet only to tell me he isnt going to make it. Why are there always people here who have to reply to the posts as if they are the only ones that have a brain? I am 29 years old, married for 6.5 years, have 2 children under the age of 4, and have raised dogs since I can remember. Not that i have to explain to some of you but come on..anyone with a brain stem knows animals cost money. To those who posted to help answer my question, thank you, I appreciate it. As for the unsolicited advice, no thank you. This is hard enough as it is.

I kind of felt the same as Nancy. No one is saying you can't provide for your babies, or love them. And I think it was obvious you were not buying a new baby, just keeping one you already had. You're extremely upset by Carter's accident and we all understand that. But, please don't be so defensive; everyone is just offering sympathy. Please let us know about Carter. He's in our prayers. | |
