| Praying for Carter's recovery! I would keep the C thing going too -- maybe Cody? I have two yorkies, a min. dachshund and a Jack Russell. 4 is a great number!

| I am praying for Carter too. We all have our limit that we can afford to pay into emergency care which is very expensive. I know I do and it doesnt mean I love My dogs any less. I have two yorkies but plan on getting a third. I really dont see much difference between having 3 or 4. Only a little bit more expensive

| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Call me a jerk but laughing in the same post about your yorkie getting hit by a car and maybe not making it bothered me too Poor baby - but I know everyone responds differently to stress and trauma ....how badly is he hurt ??? Is it money standing in the way of medical care ??? There are ways you can work payments thru most all vets if it's an emergency - and he sounds seriously hurt .....I really hope he's going to be ok. also this is a site you can try - www.imom.org if you think you need financial assistance - and all the Best to Carter - I hope he isn't in pain. |

| BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | I will pray for Carter. I think you may be in shock and it's normal. IMO I would worry about getting the funds to get my 6yr old better and not worry about a new puppy, you could sell this puppy to get funds to make Carter better. A new puppy is going to be expensive , how are you going to afford the shots? anyways, hope Carter gets better hun. |

I agree, I too feel extremly bad for Carter.. I guess because I lost my Maddy this past August and I will tell you what I could not properly function for the 3 days she was kept at the vets... she had parvo totally different from your situation... she was 10 months old but it felt more like I had her for 10 years to me.. I would have done everything in my power to save her.. and I feel like I did.. money was tight with me as well but in my eyes it was not fair to her to let her suffer.. she passed but not without giving a good fight and hopefully knowing her mommy and daddy and brother Gizmo( yorkie 1.5 yrs) loved her... I understand how you get to keep this pup of your litter but I guess I am overly emotional but if I was in your position and my yorkie was hit by a car the LAST LAST LAST thing on my mind would be naming a puppy.. all of my energy would be used to be calling the vet to follow up on his status and see if there is anything more they can do to help him get better and make sure he is not in alot of pain... the last thing on my mind would be naming a puppy... sorry if this hurts your feelings but geez ..... | |

| That is so true Heather, you could sell the pup and it would give you more funds to take care of Carter. It is just something to think about

| Every pet owner has to decide for themself how much money they will invest in vet care...no one else can judge them for this IMO. I have not or will not invest an insane amount of money to save my pets..that is my choice. I have a limit...I will not allow them to suffer any pain or on going illness without resolve...and that is for me, only me to decide and others opinion of my decision is of no interest to me...and we should not judge anyone else who decides to stop treatment and let their pet go humanely. I do not like the idea people should not get a pet unless we are willing to pay whatever it costs to keep them going for 15 yrs...I had a grooming client who charged $13,000 in one year on her credit card for her sick Yorkie...did it make her a better pet owner then someone who would choose to let theirs go? Not to me it did not... I have had puppy buyers assure me they would spare no expense to keep my pup alive as long as possible...I expect them to use common sense and I always vote for good quality of life first. I have seen a number of my old Yorkies who should have been put down a year or two before they were, it grieved me to see them that way..I would breathe a big sigh of relief when they finally died... |

| I do not pay alot of attention to what people say in these circumstances..sometimes emotional pain makes us say things in a way we might not otherwise...I lost a bitch during a c-section one time many years ago..it helped me to name her babies and get my mind off my dead Tess. |
