| Question Hi. I do have a question that I would like some input on. I have read both pros and cons of letting your Yorkie sleep on your bed. Some say that it creates a problem and others say no. What do you all think? Thanks, Sammi |

| Mine have slept in the bed with my husband and me since day one. We have had no problems. They wake us up if they need to go out, they are pretty much on a schedule now

| I really truly believe that it is a personal choice. My kids sleep with me most of the time 'cause they choose too and other times they sleep elsewhere cause they choose to. |

| Both of mine have slept in bed with my hubby and me since day one, also. They wake me up if they need to go out in the middle of the night. Neither has ever had an accident in the bed. I have always heard taht they won't potty where they sleep. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali sleeps with me and has since she was 5 months old. She can get up and down from the bed via ramp and use the pads if necesary. My pom has always preferred to sleep under the bed and will not sleep on my bed.

| Bella sleeps with us, and has since we brought her home. She has a ramp, and can get down if she'd like, but she also wakes us up if she needs to go out. Never had a problem.

| Rocky sleeps right by me! He loves the bed, and usually stays in it until 1-2PM He hasn't had any accidents in the bed, but when my moms boxer was a puppy he slept in my bed, and one morning I woke up and found 2 types of presents at the end of the bed. Of course, he came back up to the pillows and was sleeping innocently. I'm just thankful he did it at the end of the bed!

| I believe it's a personal choice as well. Our trainer told us in the past (she's someone that believes in + reinforcement) to let a dog sleep in your room but their own bed. Zoe sleeps with us once in a while as a 'treat' simply b/c we plan on having babies in the near future and do not want to oust her out once the babies come. I know she will be terribly upset if we did this. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | morgan sleeps with me sometimes. she doesn't have any accidents at night nor does she wake me up to potty in the middle of the night. HOWEVER, i'm a bit scared of letting her sleep with me again because last night i thought i killed her. she had managed to curl up under the blanket and fall asleep right behind me (her back against my back). well i kinda smushed her a little and woke up. i woke up startled and didn't know if i had just rolled over on her or if i was lying on her all night. i poked her and half picked her up to get her to move and she didn't move at all scared the crap out of me. then she lifted her head and gave me an evil look for disturbing her sleep. i don't even think she noticed i smushed her a little but boy did i feel horrible. i put her in her pen after that.

| My 2 cents I don't think it's a problem, but I imagine it depends on the dog. My previous yorkie always slept with me...from the first day we brought her home. She never had an accident on the bed, and I didn't worry about smushing her at night because I knew she would make herself known. Heck, sometimes if I nudged her a little at night she would growl like, "This is my bed and you are disturbing my sleep!" LOL! Gosh I loved her and miss her still. She was also larger than my current yorkie and could easily jump off & on the bed, so although she slept with me 99% of the time, if I was too restless she would hop down and find a better spot to spend the rest of the night. I would like Jackson to be able to sleep with me too, but I'm not sure he ever will...at least not on a regular basis. For one thing, he's already had an accident at the foot of the bed one night when I let him sleep with me. But even once he is housebroken (gosh, I sure hope that day will come), I don't know if he'll ever be able to jump off & on the bed. He's so little and not as bouncy as my last little furbaby. He seems pretty content in his special bed that Santa brought him, however, so at least I don't feel like I'm denying him. And we always have some cuddle time in bed before I put him in his own bed for the night.

| Now if my dh and I ever got to sleep ALONE I would like the doggies in their beds but seeing as we haven't slept alone in 6 1/2 years they don't bother me in my bed. Sometimes Allie sleeps with us other times she sleeps in her bed (her choice) Annie sleeps with us all the time except now (she has babies).
