I believe it's a personal choice as well.

Our trainer told us in the past (she's someone that believes in + reinforcement) to let a dog sleep in your room but their own bed.

Zoe sleeps with us once in a while as a 'treat' simply b/c we plan on having babies in the near future and do not want to oust her out once the babies come. I know she will be terribly upset if we did this.
