| ![]() Is your pup trained to~ go on wee wee pads go in a litter box go outside go outside and on wee wee pad go outside and in a litter box I have been trying both outside and wee wee pad. She has a big octagon shaped play yard that is big enough for her one of her beds, her food and water, her basket of toys, a wee wee pad and still room to play. She will not potty in there. She will hold it for MANY hours and as soon as I let her out of her pen I have been taking her outside cuz if I don't she will potty in the house. Then when we come back in within 30 min she is trying to go in the house. I do not want to have her locked up 24/7 . Then I thought about training her to only go outside, but that is hard cuz I live in MO and our weather is really bad in the winter. She is going next Wed. to be spayed, do you think that during her recovering she will use the wee wee pads if they are in the play pen with her cuz I really don't want her out during that time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

| ![]() My dogs are "supposed" to be wee-wee pad trained & trained to go outside. However, they don't understand the difference between, a wee-wee pad & any small rug in the house. The bathmat in front of the bathtub is the chosen place to pee these days & the little rug in my kitchen is the favorite spot for poopoo! Urg!

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | ![]() Magic is trained to go outside and will only go outside or on the floor if not taken out..she refuses to use pee pads...Sailor on the other hand is pee pad trained and will go outside occasionaly, like on walks, but she rarely has accidents in the house...our problem is with Magic, if we don't see her at the door she will just go on the floor...we aren't sure what to do!!

| ![]() Thanks everyone, Just one more ?, what do you do in the winter? Do your pups still go out, and are they ok in the snow and wet yucky ground? I think Lexi would rather go outside. oh yaeh, also what about after surgery, could she still go out, or should I make her stay in?

| ![]() We live in a 3rd floor apartment and we don't have an elevator, so we decided to pee pad train our yorkie, and he's 100% trained. When we take him for walks or we go anywhere he will also urinate outside. I try not to take him outside whenever it's raining only because he gets so dirty. |

| ![]() Maxius is almost 100% potty trained using the wee wee pads for peeing....but the poop is a whole different story...I don't think he realizes that the pad is for both...because he will pee and then immediately after make his way somewhere else to poop.....I can't take the poop anymore...lol, he hates to poop on the pad...literally and it's to cold for outside and he doesn't have all his shots anyways.. ;9 |

| ![]() you know my vet told me to make sure that thier food is nowhere near where they go or else they won't go. my friend was having the same problem with her dog and after i told her to really seperate thier food from where they go, she did it and it worked now her dog always goes on his pepe pads. she put his food in her kitchen and the pads in the living room, so she can monitor him. so maybe this is something you can try. hope this helps. |

| ![]() My Tess is outside trained. In fact, I left her in the house for 5-1/2 hours today and she didn't go once!! (I'm sooooo proud of her!!!!!!!!!) She is doing fantastic for only 4 months. She doesn't mind going out in the bad weather. She'll sit in the rain as long as I let her. I can't wait to see how she reacts to snow. I was going to try to pads, but it seems as if it's just another way to go "in the house" and I wanted her to learn that she only goes potty outside. ![]() |

| ![]() These training stories are so cute and funny! My Kelsey goes on puppy pads and outside. Mostly on puppy pads though, b/c she had parvo and JUST finished her last set of shots so i'm being extra precautious...but she does both very well. I hate when she misses the puppy pad and it goes on the carpet ![]() ![]() ![]()
