Well, I probably shouldn't reply because we are not totally there yet
I am training Trace to go outside only. I take him out every 30 minutes, after naps, and meals. We do not come in until he goes, but he's been very good at going immediately. We use the same door. Now he's at least going to the door on his own, but you have to be paying attention, because that means
now. He does not have free roam of my house and I'm certain if I didn't take outside so often he'd go on the floor. I did not try the pee pads because I felt that was simply teaching him to go inside, when what I really wanted was for him to go outside.
On the weather, well, we had a northeaster here last Friday, guess who's mother was standing outside in a raincoat w/ an umbrellla over him???? LOL...
PS. He went REAL quickly on Friday
