From the pics, Peeka IS A RAVING BEAUTY! But, in order for someone to give a real honest critique of your baby they need to examine him in person. Kinda like appraising diamonds -- you need to put them under a high powered microscope -- you just can't do that with pics. | |

| Try contacting a breeder from the www.ytca.org site. Click on the breeder referral and then check for one in Utah. Your puppy is adorable, but unfortunately you can't tell if he would be good stud from a picture. I would have a good breeder check him out for any faults that you wouldn't want to pass on like LP or an off bite. Try and find out everything you can about your puppy's pedigree and health history. After that I would have his blood work done so you have proof that he is disease free (brucellosis, etc.). If he does become a stud the female's breeder will want proof just as you will want the same. Hopefully, you can find a breeder from the YTCA to mentor you during this process of breeding since it's pretty involved. Good luck!

| The only way you can learn is to ask honest questions from the heart and hope that those reading your questions will give you honest compassionate answers. Check on the AKC website for breeders in Utah. Contact some of then and see if they show. Also, your vet should be a great resource. Get on the phone and start calling people or start emailing..... If you perservere you will find someone close to you who can help. I rely on my vet's opinion regarding my kids. She owns a yorkie, and there are several poeple in the practice that own yorkies and they have a lot of Yorkies as clients. I am also fortunate to know a couple of "show people" |

| Yes age does matter and right now Peeka is a bit young anyway. You really need to let him finish growing up, 1 yr. old is good. From picture 3 his bite looks a bit off, have you checked it? Topline, tailset, are his legs nice and straight? Is there any history of LP, livershunt, or hernias in his line? I'd at least take him to a match and have a judge go over him. Matches are cheap, fun, and low stress. The exhibitors are owners and the dogs are puppys and you can meet breeders there as well.

| I know there is a breeder in Draper. Dobby's stud is from there, and his mom is in Grantsville. Anyway, Dobby's breeder told us the breeder in draper has a few studs..so maybe they could help you with peeka. Unfortunately, I don't know where it is. But, i do have to call dobby's breeder today to send us his paperwork. If i can find any info, I'll let you know! By the way- Peeka is too cute! Love the bows.

| peeka is too young to breed at this time. she needs to have had at least two heat cycles and at least 12 months or older. her body is not mature enough now. although some people do try to delivery babies during their first cycle, you can go through previous post and see how difficult it was for these mommies to have the babies. we have lost many mommies and babies. you have time and time is on your side if you keep asking questions and learn as much as you can.

| my tye and zac are from my sasha and scampi (rip baby boy and girl) it wasnt planed, sasha and scampi desided they wanted a family but didnt ask me first it was sashas first heat as well but the vet looked her over and said she was fine to carry them.scampi didnt change at all after breeding and was the cleanest dog i have ever had so you maybe lucky and he wont change. he was so sweet to tye and zac, he sat there the whole time and watched them be born then kissed them and sasha he also would clean them, make them go wee and poo and even cleaned that up you could say he was a modern father

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | You say, "First i am considering breeding Peeka he is 8 1/2 months old now i really want to have another Yorkie as calm and sweet as he is." Breeding will change his disposition, he won't be as calm and sweet and there is no guarantee his pups will be anything like him. He's an adorable little pup. Maybe you could start going to shows and meet other breeders who could evaluate your dog and give you tips. You wouldn't have to enter your dog. Do your homework before breeding. Nancy |
