| A little venting session Ok just have to get this off my chest. I went out of town a couple of weeks ago and my husband was working 12 hours a day so we took Reagan to his parents thinking that it would be better than leaving her at home all day alone. Well we went down there this past weekend and his father gets talking about how he fed her cheetos and a couple other things. Now this wouldn't be so bad but they know how adamant I am about feeding her, I don't want her to beg. I have actually jumped his mother before when she was about to feed Reagan from the table. Then I was talking to her on the phone the other day and she starts asking if I used a newspaper on Reagan. Well I was kind of confused because I didn't know if she meant to spank her or for potty training. I asked, "like to swat her with" and she said yeah. I said no very pissed cause I knew by then that she had used a newspaper on Reagan. Well apparently my father-in-law was trying to eat breakfast and Reagan kept trying to get in the chair with him so she popped her with a newspaper. Ok now its bad enough that she hit my dog, it isn't her dog to be hitting not to mention I don't pop her a firm no is all she needs, but she hit my dog with a newspaper. Then I was talking to my mother and she made a very good point. He feeds her then when she begs they pop her what in the world did they expect her to do once they started feeding her? Needless to say she will not be going back over there without us. Sorry I just got stirred up about it once again and needed to vent a little. Thanks for listening, or rather reading.

| Urrghh! That is so frustrating!! It's bad enough that people try to judge the way that you raise your dogs - but when they take it upon themselves to do stuff like this it is so aggravating!! You must have been pissed!!

| i hope they don't do that to their grandchildren too! do they? times are so much different than they used to be. in earlier years the pets of the house were treated this way. they were spoiled by feeding them from the table and a swat from the newspaper was a punishment thing. it was no big deal, sort of a form of loving rearing. so a days, this is not the case. times change and rearing (children and pets) has changed. I am sure they didn't mean any harm by doing what they did. It is agravating when people don't respect your wishes in certain cases. I vote for tossing your father-in-law a dog biscuit and when your mother-in-law ask for something pop her in the head with your newspaper! I don't know about you but that would certainly make my day.

| I guess we need to write down our do's and don'ts for puppysitting like we do for babysitters. They should be able to follow you rules and guidelines or not sit for you. |

| Oh jeez! I would've been irrate too! I can understand why you are upset! I guess its just unthinkable to us ever hit these babies...like you would really even have to tell someone that! Hitting only teaches fear! Poor little Reagan was probably so confused.... "here share my food with me one minute and them snap! with the paper the next!" |

| This is not yorkie related but is your last name Hickey? My fiance's is and I was just wondering. I know how you feel except my father who hates my sister's wire haired terrier to eat table food, feeds my dog coco puffs. Gucci has never eaten a piece of human food since I've gotten him and he never begs. Then my father turns around and does something he hates to my dog. It's irritating I know. | You know it probably wouldn't have bothered me but as far as the food goes they know they aren't supposed to be feeding it to her, I have gotten on to them before about it. LDenise The grandchild thing is another issue altogether. I'm in my early 20's and don't have any kids yet but yes I do believe they spank my brother-in-law's children. Which would be fine since I believe their own parents spank them but I don't think the parents have given them permission and I really believe unless you have permission you shouldn't spank someone else's child, even if it is your grandchild. Now I on the otherhand don't want to spank my children when I get there (although I guess things could change when I get there), but as I told my husband if they lay a finger on one of my kids they will see the devil come out it me. I really was kind of weary about leaving kids down there by themselves (when we have them) before all this but now I'm that much more scared to. This isn't really the first issue we've had with them so don't think I'm completely evil, things go way back with them. Yes Celeste my last name is Hickey.

| Well you have every right to be upset about the way they were with your baby! I absolutely can't stand it when people DO NOT respect what our wishes are for our babies!!!!! I have a very nosy neighbor who always comes over everyday to see Luig and EVERYDAY I have to hear it from her how terrible she feels for Luig that he is gated up all day long. She always tells me how cruel it is and that I should let him have total freedom while I am gone! What nerve! She always asks to have him go over with her during the day but thats too long for him to be over there. I really don't trust her. So one day -against my better judgemant, I let her keep him one day for about 3 hours!!! You would have thought she hit the lottery!! She was soo happy!!! So I gave her strict instuctions regarding his feeding. Absolutely NO TABLE FOOD!!!! And I gave her the exact amount of food that he was to have!!! She looked at the bowl and tells me that that was not enough food. That poor Luig was gonna starve to death if thats all he gets to eat. Well that really irritated me. So I EXPAINED to her that he ate once already and he doesn't really need a ton of food. Anyways- he has a really sensitive tummy. So I left. I didn't have a good feeling when I left but.... So I went to pick him up after a few hours and she gave me his bowl back with all his food in it. I was confused. She said she didn't give it to him and she gave him some real food to fill his tummy and she gave him spahgette with meatballs!! I was furious!!!! I said that she totally disrepected me and went totally againt what I said. I yelled that it went in one ear of yours and out the other!!!! So I took him home and about 4 horus later I had a nice mess to clean up. He brought it back up and had the runs the next 2 days. When he threw up it was about 11:00 PM and I knew she went to bed early but I marched my butt right over there and rang the bell continuously til she anwered and I made sure she knew what she did to my baby--- "You made him sick!!!!" Among a few other choice words. Do you know what she had the nerve to say to me-- Well I didn't know he would get sick from that-- he ate all of it so he must have liked it! Uuuggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!! I was royally P-Oed!!!!! People are soooooo disrepectful!!! I saw her a few days later- never apologized- only asked when she gets to wath him again!!!! She had sooo much fun with him!!!! I looked at her in total amazement and walked away. Til this day, she still doesn't thimk she did anything wrong!!!! Soo sorry this was soooo long but.... People just do what hey want anyways and are not respectful!!!!!!!! |

| People can be so ignorant. I know how you feel about people blatantly disobeying your wishes... I needed to go to Target for a few items and left Stewie with my aunt and her Cocker. She feeds her Cocker table food, which is none of my business, but I specifically asked her not to feed Stewie ANY table food. Needless to say, I come back from my errand and found CHEESE stuck to Stewie's face. He had diareha and was vomiting up the ENTIRE McDonald's cheese burger she had fed him when I was gone for 25 minutes. She wonders why I don't let him go over and play anymore.
