i hope they don't do that to their grandchildren too! do they? times are so much different than they used to be. in earlier years the pets of the house were treated this way. they were spoiled by feeding them from the table and a swat from the newspaper was a punishment thing. it was no big deal, sort of a form of loving rearing. so a days, this is not the case. times change and rearing (children and pets) has changed. I am sure they didn't mean any harm by doing what they did. It is agravating when people don't respect your wishes in certain cases.
I vote for tossing your father-in-law a dog biscuit and when your mother-in-law ask for something pop her in the head with your newspaper! I don't know about you but that would certainly make my day.
