| Welcome to YT. You will learn a great deal on this site regarding Yorkies. First of all there is no such thing as a teacup yorkie. Please stay away from anyone who advertises them. A yorkie is a yorkie wether it be 1lb or 13lbs it is still a yorkie. The term teacup is used to jack up the prices on the little ones. Be carefull because the little ones can have many health problems. Sad but true. Any one who advertises teacup yorkies is looking at your wallet not the health of their yorkies. Do some research on this site regarding it and you will learn all you need to know to get your baby. Good luck. Carol & Buddy AKC weight for what is considered a standard yorkie it up to 7lbs. Anything over can not be shown but is still considered a yorkie. |

| Hello and welcome, I had a cute little yorkie for 13 1/2 years and walked around talking about my teacup. Till one day a woman totally went off on me for trying to pass my 3lb baby as a teacup. I then started reading the net and the AKC standards and what do ya know. My teacup was a yorkie. LOL No biggy though I lived and learned and she was still my baby. I just felt silly later. Seriouly though what kind of price range are you looking for, size, sex, and are you planning to breed, show, or a pet?

| live and learn, its ok.... but, PLEASE, take the advice of everyone here.... DONT buy from a breeder who sells "teacup"... they are all right... I learned SO MUCH when I first came here and let me tell you, WOW on the education! The smaller ones do tend to have more vet bills too. I have a 4lb baby and a 16lb baby... they are both soooo fun! Good luck on your search! You will truly find great advice here on YT!

| After my cat died last year, I started thinking about getting some type of little dog - I had never had a little dog before, but my boys were nearly grown and I thought it would be nice to have a little "lap doggy" for my "empty nest". So I started reading on the internet about "small dogs" and just got hooked on the yorkies-never really paid attention to dogs before, never had seen a real live yorkie. I knew it would be a big commitment, more work than having a cat-read everything I could-went to the pet store to just see and hold one-and that did it for me. I knew I wanted a small yorkie-not necessarily tiny-but easy to carry-like a baby-(I had empty nest bad). Combed newspapers for several months, called about a few. Then one day I called about a yorkie in the newspaper that was 6mos-3lbs..I thought she would probably be 5-6lbs when grown, a nice healthy weight. I just knew she would be the one-went to see her and it was love at first site!! My point is-you are doing the right thing-dreaming and planning and waiting-Then ONE day it will happen-when the time is right-the perfect baby, the perfect size for you, will pop into your life.. |

| thank you for the boost of confidence I was heart broken on christmas. A small yorkie has been the only thing I have asked for the past couple of christmas. Every christmas has passed and I haven't recieved one yet. Now I am making it my mission to get one on my own. I know I can give it all the love and care it will need. I have a chiuaua and have had it for years. He is about 15 yrs old and isn't doing so good. He is very spoiled and my heart breaks to know that he won't be around much longer. I am not looking for a replacement because nothing could take the place of my rocky but this is something I really want. |
