Too small and too young......she is not physically or mentally matured. I'm sure people have done it.....I know YTCA code of ethics states not until 18 months or 2nd Season.....Might want to read AKC guidelines. There is a possibility that he'll loose money, if she doesn't pull through......so many things can go wrong.......

![]() No your not cold hearted but you are obviously naive and your husband is running things. You stated you suggested studding out your male dog to reimburse your husband and that is just as bad. Do you know that that could possibly change your males personality? Do you know that if you care about the breed you have to get genetic testing? Well your husband doesn't care about breeding a puppie so I doubt he cares about testing either. Does he know anything or he just thinks you let them screw and 2 months later out pops some puppies and in rolls the dough? YOU NEED TO GET BOTH DOGS FIXED. I can just see it know there is going to be an "accident" and your dog is pregnant.

I'm sure when it comes time for breeding, you'll want to do it correctly. Are you prepared to lose your little girl, it can happen. Not to mention the cost and care for an expectant yorkie....good, food and vitamans. Making sure you have the correct equipment for whelping a litter. Back up money in case of a C-section, possible Eclampsia, Pyrometria, etc. Cost of Vaccinations for puppies and Vet Checks, tail docking, dew claw removal. Cost of Special food for mom after whelping. Puppy food for weaning time. Having to stay home from work from 1st due date till pups are approximately 2 weeks old. Staying up all night delivering puppies and making sure that they're nursing properly.. These are just a few things that breeders need to be prepared for.

![]() Well I don't feel like you should breed period. Not the first or second or third or fourth season. There are enough dogs out there. And from the sounds of it your husband would turn you BOTH into the types of breeders we hate here at Yorkietalk. Because he DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THE BREED ONLY THE MONEY. Be honest that's why you have a male and a female because he wanted to breed them all alongs right??? Only thing is neither one of you new you are not suppose to breed a bigger male to a small female. Neither one of these dogs is fixed either. This is a shame. Well maybe someone clueless will buy from you.

she is small ...she's still a baby herself - and if you love her, you wouldn't want something to go wrong.....Why did you get her .....Isn't she your pet ?? I don't want to sound like the voice of doom - but having puppies IS painful for the mom. I feel sorry for your husband and his outlook on this. That's really just wrong and to see your dog as only a money machine is just sad. there are many threads about people losing their mom to birth - and or the litter ....it's not for everyone. This is a great thread for people who have a very small yorkie and are thinking of breeding them - PLEASE READ and do your research before you take this big step. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...=breeding+tiny ps...you were right about your female being to small to mate with a 7 lbs male...keep thinking along those lines - that's dangerous for the female

![]() Than the breeding of her Yorkie..... I feel very bad for you, I know you have a heart. And you are trying to do the right thing......I got an idea.....let him read all the recent articles about delivering Yorkies.....quite frankly, they scared the crap out of me and I tell you.....I would spay her before I would allow him to use a bigger male on her and her being so young.... It is a shame.....sounds like he THINKS he is the boss at your house.... ![]()
