| I love it in Texas. True Southern hospitality. People here are great and nice. I love it here and cannot think about living anywhere else. The downside of living in Texas is that you'll probably experience all seasons in one week. One day, it could be raining cats & dogs with tornado warnings and baseball sized hail.. and a few hours later it's the prettiest weather you've seen all week! Then, it could snow in the morning during the winter and a few hours later, the sun has never been so bright. It's crazy! lol |

| Great to see all the Texans on here. I live in Beaumont, it's about 60 miles SE of Houston. If any of you all go to the Casinos in Louisiana you go right through us.

| The downside of central Texas is there is about 4-5 months of really hot weather - high 90's and some 100's. The humidity is only really bad in the mornings - it is usually very sticky and yucky in the mornings, but then in the afternoons it is just hot and it doesn't cool down (to the high 70's) till after midnight. The upside is that there are about 5 months of absolutely glorious weather in the winter. It rarely even freezes, some winters it doesn't get below freezing. If you live where there are season changes, you will miss that - but otherwise it is wonderful. San Marcos and New Braunfels are wonderful little cities. Austin is glorious, but if you are not used to traffic, you will hate that aspect. I absolutely adore Austin, couldn't imagine living anywhere else! |

I love New Braunfels, I think it is quaint. I love the old houses and wrap around porches. What I hate is hot. Have that here in Nevada but only bad for about 3 months. Also have snow here which is very pretty but horrible to drive in and sucky to have to shovel. | |

| Hi, TatumsMom here (Angie). We live in Brenham - about halfway between Houston and Austin. Haven't found anyone that lives in my area yet - although the Houston posters are pretty close. I'm really looking forward to getting to one of the Houston meetups soon.

| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | You forgot Brenham is where the happy cows make yummy Blue Bell Ice Cream - They eat what they can and share the rest - are you one of those who eat the rest ? Can you send me some ??? |

| You know, problem is when you grow up with that stuff, you take it for granted. Blue Bell IS the only ice cream I will eat (except for whatever that is McDonald's makes that hot fudge sundae with!) but I don't really eat much. I get on a kick where I can eat about 5 scoops a night for about a week or two and then take a break for quite a while. Maybe if we ever get to meet, I'll treat you to some, Villette!

| There will be a yorkie meetup at Millie Bush Dog Park next weekend, May 21 at 3 pm if anyone is interested... Hope some of you nearby and not so nearby Houstonians try to come. It's about 1-1/2 hours from me, but I'm going to try to go this month. Cyndie Trevor's Mom |

| We are actually FINALLY trying to move into our new house these next couple weekends so I won't be able to make it to this month's meetup but I want to try for next month. BUT only if at least one of you can be there too. I hate new places and unknown faces! I feel like I know some of you already and would be more comfortable that way.

| I love the Austin area. The only place in Texas I feel really at home. It's so funky. There is something there for everyone! Great book stores, plays, arts, crafts, antiquing, wonderful grocery stores and eating places. It's pricey - and the traffic is awful (of course I'm a real small town girl), but it's wonderful. Not humid at all like the coastal area down here in Kingsville. |

| Brittni & I are from Pflugerville (just north of Austin). I have family in Kingwood - LOVE that area, very pretty, but also very humid. Bad hair days! |

| Yep, I agree Austin is the only place in Texas I feel really at home too. I love its funky, accepting, laid back way. Of course the traffic is frustrating, but the rest of its assets far outweigh the negatives. Someone mentioned they didn't like snow - you certainly won't have any of that in central Texas and if it does snow (once in a blue moon), it's gone in about 30 seconds - yes yes I know the Texas gulf coast had a foot of snow this winter - but that was freak of nature!!! |
