Luvs Lulu Donating Member | ![]() The grandmother was solely to blame. First off those pups were too young to be out and about. They can catch just about anything. Second of all you dont' leave a 9 year old child in a car alone. There are too many incidents of stupid things happening, car jackings etc. So the grandmother has no one to blame but her damn stupid self.

| ![]() I too agree that Grandma is to blame. She should have never left a child that young in the car alone. That child is probably already feeling bad. Grandma needs to cough the money back up for the deposits and it is wrong for her to keep it. If she spent it then she needs to make a payment plan with those people!

| ![]() Gee, I think the first fault was with whoever sold the dogs to the grandma. She's obviously not responsible enough to own the dogs, much less breed them. Anyone that leaves a mature male and female together shouldn't be surprised when "he gets to her". It was irresponsible to let that 3 1/2 lb. be bred or deliver puppies. I wouldn't want to buy a puppy from her and I certainly wouldn't leave my children with her. But having said all that, the coworker needs to address the issues with her child. If she is not mature enough not to spray the puppies with shoe spray, she certainly shouldn't be left unattended in a car. OK Sorry if I began to rant. ![]() |

| ![]() Sounds to me like there is a whole family of idiots there! Lot of bad breeding practices on the furbabies and the skin people too! When your female is in heat, crate her if you have to. Or split crate time between male and female, something you know? Someone sees nothing but dollar signs in the girls eyes. They could care less about the poor dogs themselves. You don't leave dogs in the car, PERIOD. You don't leave 9 year old kids in the car, PERIOD! A 9 year old CAN read. Who keeps shoe spray in their car? I know I don't. Maybe I need to put some in there, lol. Run off car jackers with it. People should all get a full refund and apology now, not waiting on the "next litter". |

| ![]() I think that all the blame lies solely on the grandmother. She sounds very irresponsible in regards to both her grandchild and her pets. A 9 year old child is really not that old when you think about it. What is she in maybe 3rd or 4th grade? She should have never been left alone in a car, with or without the responsibility of the puppies. In this day and age with all the really scary and horrilble crap that goes on---how could anyone leave a child alone in a car, is beyond me. I am also very against someone leaving a pet alone in a car. But a leaving a child alone in a car is totally nuts. I agree a 9 yo can read, however at which reading level is questionable. As a former long time elementary teacher, I can tell you without a doubt--the reading level in a 3rd or 4th grade class can go from pre-k to high school. Also even if the girl is reading at an appropriate reading level, many 9 yr old kids are not fully capable of thinking through the whole cause and effect process. The kid is 9 yrs old, the puppies pooped and it smelled. She grabbed something that she thought would eliminate the smell. She was not thinking about the possible disastrous effects--she is 9 yrs old!! Sorry, but I think some of the comments made about this child are totally uncalled for. I highly doubt this child did this as a premediated act to hurt the puppies. It is a shame and the blame lies on the grandmother. I sincerely hope she does not continue to breed her dogs and I also sincerely hope she is more careful when she has her granddaughter in her care. As far as returing the people's deposits that should not even be a question. She should have returned those deposits the day this tragic even happened. |

I'm sure the kid had no idea that it could harm the puppies even if she knew it was for shoes. She would not realize it might be fatal to a puppy. | |

| ![]() I don't thinks some of you have any idea of the maturity level of a 9 year old. It would not occur to many adults that this might be harmful to puppies. The poor little thing is probably devastasted to think she caused the deaths of those puppies, but to think that she should be held accountable and punished for it is just plain wrong. The courts would not even consider a 9 year old responible for murder if they shot someone with a gun. I love my dogs, but my first concern would be with the mental state of the child. They should be hugging her and reassuring her that they still love her and although they are sad, they know that she didn't mean to do it so they are not angry with her. What if you accidently hurt your own dog, and many of us have done that.. Who would be punishing you for it? When my son used to hit his younger sisters and then tell me they had it coming, my question to him would be, and who hits you when you have it coming? |

| ![]() I really doubt a 9 year old child would know that shoe spray would hurt the puppies. I think the Grandma is solely resonsible for this. I have a 6 yr old Child and wouldnt even leave her in the car while I go pay for gas. With some of the crazy people in this world something really bad could have happened to that child

| ![]() Sorry, I don't mean to hurt anyones feelings here but this is totally thee grandmother's fault. And yes a nine year old should know better if they have been taught but some are just plain mean. Sorry parents. But, my six, almost seven, year old grandson has been taught as well as a child with a learning disability can be and is at times an angel. other times he is the meanest kid I know. I love him with all my heart, he IS MY heart. he is in the spray every can you see with a spray on it phase. he recently sprayed his three year old sister and all the toys they had out at the time with a high potency flea spray in the short time it was taking me in the kitchen fixing drinks for them. His answer when he was put in time out was, "well, you shouldn't have left it where I could get it". he is right but who would think a six year old would do that? needless to say, all the spray bottles are put away now when we know he is coming |
