| In the beginning I watched stormy 24/7- and would not let him out of sight... I took him out every thirty minutes and that worked - I would watch him to see if he would start sniffing to go to the bathroom and as soon as I saw him doing that he would go out. I also caught him in the act and would pick him up and bring him outside. I have had three rottweiler's before which I do not have them now and I can say that stormie was harder . I think constantly watching them and what they are doing really worked. I have two small boys so it was difficult at times until I told them that they needed to let stormy out and if he went to the bathroom that it was there responsibility to clean it up and that worked pretty good with them as well. I would watch him constantly and still do. I wish you the best of luck with it all and let me know how the litter turns out- be patient...

| I really like to join the discussion. I think I have the same problem with Chelsea. I do not know if this is regression or what. She is 20 weeks and 5 months old. She has been doing well inside the house with rare mistakes when we watched her. In the past 2 days she has been acting funny (including embarrasing moment at my in-law house). She pees in her sofa while playing and inside her crate. This happen after I took her out to pee and potty. Today she even potty inside the crate. I took her out several times and she does not want to potty. Other than that she is good inside the house or even when I took her for a walk in petco. Wierd ! She also starts ignoring her kibble. I fed her 3 times but only eats 1-2 times. I know she is active and playfull. If I force her to eat she will eat. I know she is not sick either. It is quite frustating after seeing a good progress the last few weeks. Any suggestion ? |

| I'm laughing so hard - I'm crying. I got the litter pan and litter; put a piddle pad on the bottom and some litter - just a little, on the top. Tink jumped in and started eating it. I can't believe it. I was so hyped up thinking this might be the answer to my piteous prayers. NOT! Waahh! (That's me sobbing). I put it up so she can't get at it. I'll try it again when she wakes up from her nap and needs to tinkle. Do you think she will get sick if she swallows any of the litter? She is already hacking up furballs from chewing on her brother poodle's ears all the time. ![]() Man it's a good thing she's so cute and gives lots of little kisses!!!!!!!! |

| I would pick her up and place her in the litter and see if she will try that and tell her : Do not eat this"- my tried eating it too but spit it out... no harm at all- keeping trying and being persistent. It takes a couple of days when she needs to go I would pick her up and put her on the litter. This takes some time to train... It would be very hard for me to get so upset with her too she is so cute!!! I have the same problem with mine as well, it is hard to get upset with him.

| you have a subborn one on your hands , that is for sure. Keep being persistent with her. I would try taking her outside about evry 30 minutes- see if that works. I am sure it is pretty cold there

| It's not too cold here yet - 8 last night but 20 today. Tonight 8 again with a wind chill of 0. Not bad, it's get's much worse but, she won't go out. I have tried taking her out and putting her down on the patio which is cleared but she just runs for the door and barks. If I put her in the snow, she screams - LOUDLY. I can't believe such a tiny thing can make such a huge noise. My poodle loves the snow - not her! BUT - tonite she went poo on her piddle pad, and then ran for the treat jar. Little rascal. After I praised her to pieces and gave her a treat, she turned around and ate the poo! but at least she went. Later she started to go on the carpet but I grabbed her in time and put her on the piddle pad -she ran for the treat jar, so she knows! Just be patient I guess and hope my carpet doesn't rot. |

Pee pads work wonderfully for us now. It took her until about the 15 week mark to understand-and she still has accidents at 8.5 months, though they are less frequent, and at least NEAR her pad, so it's like she tried Hang in there and keep trying, eventually they'll get it! | |
