| Snow burrs!!! This is my first experience with snow burrs. It snowed all day today, it's just gorgeous. Down side is that Alphy sinks in it and when I bring him in he's covered in snow burrs that are stuck all over his legs!!!! I had to stick him in a sink full of water to get them off. Any suggestions?

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | LOL, welcome to my world. The good news is, it's only real bad when you get fresh snow. Once it packs down, they stop getting them. Someone suggested elastic socks, which I might try some time if we ever get a lot of snow and it stays.

| That's what he looked like!!! Except they went higher up. Abby (my golden) tried to eat as many as she could, LOL, but I went for the faster warmer method. It was fresh snow. It's been snowing all day, we ended up with like 4 to 6 inches. They are predicting another 4 to 6 overnight.

It's only bad on cottony-coated Eddie. We just plot him in the bathtub when he comes in with clumps. It's much faster than trying to blow dry them out.

| Snow Balls I use T*H*E STUFF for dogs. It is great for cotton coat's (I had a true cotton coat yorkie mix; his hair roots would pull out if you used a comb on what hair he had and it would make little bleeds. Once I started using THE STUFF on him I could comb him with ease) It makes the hair slick so that you can even comb out the snow balls. We live right on Lk Michigan and get lots of Lake Effect storms. That heavy, wet stuff. I would use it after his baths and give an extra spray if he was covered with snow. The groomer would give me a bottle whenever I was out.

| In case you were wondering if socks or booties work, here is a video of Gracie trying out her new Muttlucks. Obviously, I will be putting them up for sale, best offer, size small! http://s16.photobucket.com/albums/b3...t=50620003.flv

| Yep The Stuff works great! I'm in Wisconsin and use it on my poodle in the frigid months. Now that I have a Yorkie, I'll use it on her too. Never could find any at the stores though - as you do, I got it from the groomer. Anyone ever found it for sale? |

haha! Where are you? Phoebe is experiencing her first Washington snow too! She actually likes it, darn it. We cleared a spot for her to potty, but she decided to take off running and got all "snow burred" too! I just blow dry her when she comes in each time. deb | |
