| Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I like the idea of picture taking and also putting them in the newspaper! I never thought of that...putting our heads together here has helped me with this issue. I won't steal the mommy or pups..due to a lot of reasons I won't go into here but I am working on getting some exposure of the situation. You all have given me the verbal support I needed...thanks so much for your concern and help in saving these precious little lives. I now know I am not out of sync in my thinking this is abuse and am ready to expose to the general public if things don't change. There has, however, been some improvement since my last post... my son has been going over several times a day to check on the mom and pups as the chain gets wound around things so tightly that the poor animal can't walk. He was told last time there was a litter of pups to stay out of their yard unless they were home but he told the man he would not let that dog stand out there crying for help! They had no trouble giving the puppies away that time and most likely have already got homes for these two new ones...we could give the mom a good home but the dog is considered his "children's pet" and not about to give her up! I do however believe that my son's concern has prompted the man to move the Mom and pups into a shelter! Thank God for that! We will be keeping an eye out though and if things haven't changed for the best and the mom is seen chained up I will proceed with the exposure and they won't be pretty pictures you can be sure of that! If the local paper won't print them I will print them and throw them into yards all over town! Whatever it takes to get it before caring loving people and I will post the outcome here in YT! Thanks again for your support!

| Seems alot of people have a problem with "stealing the dog", I dont' like stealing myself, I think of it as saving. I use to live in a duplex many years ago on a main road and the the dad of the family of two small boys ( I think they were 3 and 1) bought a little chocolate toy poodle for them, everyday when the dad went to work the mom would turn the dog out, in all kinds of weather, I took him in every day and let him back out just before the dad would come home. It got to be winter and like 25 degrees out and sure enuff the lil poodle was out, I called a friend who's mother loved poodles and had just lost her little poodle, and arranged to take him to her, I know this little guy was happy and loved and warm. I don't think I stole him, I saved him.

| How about offering to provide shelter for the mama and pups in your home for the winter? Explain to them that small dogs don't have enough body heat to survive the winter outside, and that Yorkies don't have an undercoat to keep them warm like most dogs do. Maybe they don't know that. I would nicely explain to them why it's bad for these babies to be outside and say that you would be happy to take them into your home for the winter if they don't have room in their house. And after having them in your home for so long, maybe they will let you keep her. |

| Im sorry but I would not be able to live next door and DO NOTHING! This dog and her pups are outside in the cold, and chained...OMG!!!!! Please forgive my rudeness: BUT WHY DO YOU POST THIS STUFF, IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO GO OUT ON A LIMB AND SAVE THIS DOG AND HER PUPS? I PERSONALLY DO NOT WANT TO READ ABOUT HOW SOMEONE IS SEEING ABUSE AND NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. PLEASE FORGIVE MY RUDENESS: BUT DONT POST IF YOUR NOT GONNA ACT. |

| I was only kidding when I said go get it. But I would bring it in if I found it wandering around. Trouble would then be the puppies.

| No Longer a Member | I Agree,,,,,,,,,,,,Duh its not stealing if your saving a life. Me personally would not hesitate to go in someones backyard and take it. Actually we did that one time on a Rottie that was chained for days and days with no water, no food and no shelter. Made my hubby take me and get him and we found him a great home. the owners never did contact us. Quote:

| are dogs required to be licensed in your county? Call whatever bureau is in charge of that, explain the situatuion and tell them to go check if the dog is licensed.. (kinda like jailing Al Capone for "tax evasion") ... however have them do it anonymously if you do indeed intend to "scoop up" the poor baby up and find her a better home.

| Thanks to all of you for your positive imput as well as criticism! I didn't mean to imply that I wasn't going to do anything...I posted here b/c I was honestly seeking for the right answer..I just wanted to know that I was doing the right thing before rushing out there and ending up doing a stupid thing. I had turned to the only authorities I knew and told there is nothing illegal about tying up a dog as long as it has access to food and water and also must have a current tag which is received when an animal gets a rabies vaccination. I didn't receive one positive solution from anyone in authority here and I didn't know where to turn next. I would not have posted this if I wasn't going to do anything about it. As I said before, I appreciate your suggestions and your support. Sorry if I offended anyone here in YT. I know all of you will be happy to know the issue has been resolved as of today and NO I didn't steal the dogs..it didn't require any intervention at all from me or the authorities.
