| I don't even think they would look for her. They might ask a few people if they saw her, but I doubt they would put signs up and call around to a bunch of shelters. And I really doubt they have taken the time or money to microchip her. I like the idea about offering them money for her. I figure they would go for it. I just hope we can get this baby into a better home. |

| i seriuosly diubt that someone who ties there yorkie outside and basically forgets about her would spend the money much less take the time to have that dog microchipped. anyway take her awy from them one way or another but as soon as you do they will prob run out and get another! maybe you could contact local humane society or rescues who could at the very least talk those people into getting the dog fixed! either way the dog is loosing out staying with people like that! we (humans) domisticated dogs and now they depend on us for the most part to care for them so why is it that someone like that thinks they have the right to treat them as just a animal! makes me sick!

| I vote abuse...although local officials would probably call it neglect. Isn't there some sort of ASPCA type organization you could report this to? Just my opinion....but I'd take that poor, lonley yorkie, find a good home for her.......and explain later. Francie |

| I would take her and her puppies!!! maybe give the puppies to a YTer who you know will love and care for them the way they should be.. Place the momma with a new family. Do it at night lol. If I saw something like this I would probably use my biggest pan and hit the neighbor over their empty head (and take the dogs)

| I think offer to buy her? But if it doesn't work out, and then you 'take it' when it got loose, they will know its you. Something has to be done but it has to be right whatever you decide to do the first time.

| This is most definitly animal abuse and neglect. Regardless of whether the dog has shelter and food or not, they must also have a suitable environment in which they can survive. No way, can a small dog (regardless of breed) survive in 28 degree temps; let alone a litter of PUPS! This is animal abuse, neglect and cruelty on all counts. I would definitly contact rescue groups, if there are no government/state/country animal protection agencies in your area. Which I am not doubting your word, but I find it very hard to believe there are no animal protection agencies in the state of Kansas. Maybe you are not contacting the right people???? If you tell me the address, I will gladly do research to find out which government agencies are responsible in your area/state. There has to be at least one. Heck, here in NJ, we not only have animal protection agencies for all animals in general, we have specific animal protection groups and laws for endangered species. Thank goodness, I would not want it any other way! I would be happy to report these people to an animal protection agency. I agree with those that say do not take this into your own hands. No matter how good your intentions are, these people would have an excellent case in court to prosecute for theft and assorted other charges. If you have a relationship with these people in which you think they would be receptive to the idea of you purchasing their dog and her pups, and you are willing to do this--then I would do that first. But if you do not have that type of relationship with these neighbors, I would then go the legal route. Again, if you would like help in finding out about government animal protection agencies and animal rescue groups in your area--just send me a pm. I am more than willing to help. But please, do not even entertain the idea of going on their property and taking the dog and her pups, or even picking up the dog/pups when loose and keeping her/them restrained in your possession, when you know their rightful owner. I agree with the suggestion of taking pictures, this will be evidence when/if you report them to an agency. Good luck, keep us posted. |
