| Who has 2 or more yorkies? Advice needed... My wife and I are first time yorkie owners, we got Baloo (a male) in September. He has always barked non-stop for about 15 minutes whenever we leave for work in the day (or just to go out). He loves the dog day care we take him to, but it wasn't a long term solution, so we purchased a female from the same breeder to keep him company! We receive the female on Tuesday and we are so excited about it! He is 19 weeks old, and she is 20 weeks old. How do we introduce them, what should we do to make sure they don't fight over toys/food/attention? We were planning on keeping them in an x-pen that is 4ft. by 4ft., with pee pad and toys and a bed during the work day, is this sufficient? They are so small, the bed is big enough for probably 3 of them and we were hoping they would share, my wife also thinks it would be so cute to have them sleep together. What do yorkies do to play together, any ideas how we can keep them busy? We are very excited about another little one, but I'm just hoping we don't have 2 dogs with seperation anxiety. Baloo does great when the dogs at the day care keep him company, so I'm hoping his sister does the same thing at home! |

| we had muffie for a year then got kirby. they would play fight all the time at first. i had to separte them sometimes b/c i thought muffie would hurt kirby. it took about two weeks for them to settle down. now i am a stay at home mom so i am here all of the time so it is easier. it was tough the first two weeks but well worth it. these two still play like puppies and would be lost without one another. they take care of each other. sleep together. i never gave them separate bowls to eat from so that was never a problem. as i write this, they are just running around the house together. i don't know if this will help. the only thing i can say is dont give up.

| As close as they are in age, I feel they will entertain eachother when your gone! I don't have any advice, because there are 5 years difference in my 2, and they get along great. I think Adonis was soooo happy when I brought him a playmate! I just watched them close the first few days, make sure they got along, and made sure I made over Adonis, as much as I did the new baby, Venus. It seemed to bring so much life back to Adonis, so much of the playfulness I thought he'd lost forever. Yorkies, are like potatoe chips, just can't have only 1. |

| There should not be a problem at all at their ages. They will both always want the same toy even if you had ten of the same toy. They should share their food with no problem, and my guys both love to cuddle in the same bed, especially when it's chilly. Congratulations and enjoy. two of them are so much fun. |

| You should not have any real big problems about fighting..it is common for one to be the boss (leader) and the other the follower.. as it stands for me my Daisy is 7 mths and she is the leader and My Sissy ..1yr.. is the follower. But they both fight ,play, eat, sleep, together and best girlfriends...But when your female comes into her lady days (heat) you may want some advice than.. cause your male might ..ya know.... OOP'S.... LOL....

| Hi, I have to agree. I don't think you will have any major problems with their age being so young still. However, fighting over toys, treats and etc. is a different story. Good Luck there. I'm sure it will be playful fighting and nothing serious. Mine fight over everything but love each other to death. I think they actually enjoy the fighting. |

| two Yorkies I have two Yorkie's. Cocoa is 2 1/2 and Gizmo is 2. I got a second Yorkie to keep my first Yorkie company when I worked. They get along fine and are best buddies. Cocoa is the Alpha dog and gizmo knows his place. They do fine and I think it's easier having two than just one dog. They love to play and rough house. I didn't have any problems at all when I brought the second one home. I did a lot of reading about it and the books said it was better to have a male and a female rather than two of the same sex. Both are fixed. Good luck Periwinkle |

| my two TRULY love each other, even more than the other pups.... I cannot leave them together when I am gone, there is a 14 lb. different in the two... I am afraid Tootie would hurt her unintentionally... they LOVE it when I come home and they are allowed to be together... Hope gets so excited to be with Tootie, it is a blast to watch! d
