Who has 2 or more yorkies? Advice needed... My wife and I are first time yorkie owners, we got Baloo (a male) in September. He has always barked non-stop for about 15 minutes whenever we leave for work in the day (or just to go out). He loves the dog day care we take him to, but it wasn't a long term solution, so we purchased a female from the same breeder to keep him company!
We receive the female on Tuesday and we are so excited about it! He is 19 weeks old, and she is 20 weeks old. How do we introduce them, what should we do to make sure they don't fight over toys/food/attention? We were planning on keeping them in an x-pen that is 4ft. by 4ft., with pee pad and toys and a bed during the work day, is this sufficient? They are so small, the bed is big enough for probably 3 of them and we were hoping they would share, my wife also thinks it would be so cute to have them sleep together. What do yorkies do to play together, any ideas how we can keep them busy?
We are very excited about another little one, but I'm just hoping we don't have 2 dogs with seperation anxiety. Baloo does great when the dogs at the day care keep him company, so I'm hoping his sister does the same thing at home! |
