| For all of you that have more then one furkid I have meant to post several times before this but I get here and start reading all the other post and I never post. My question is when you have more then one dog how do you know who is eating what? Leo has always been one to just nibble at his food, eats part in the morning, lunch time and then in the evening. Abby is more of a gobbler, and she will eat hers and if I am not watching she will start in on Leo's. So I will put his up out of reach but then he don't have it. If I leave it down I am never for sure who has ate his. So any wise words for Moms of multi-furkids? Stephanie and Abby the Dorkie |

| I feed all of my dogs (6 in total) at the same time. If they leave their dish for more than a minute (not literal) then I take it up. There's no sharing or nosiness and certainly no aggression. |

| That is a tough one. Both of my guys nibble. I feed them canned food morning and evening, just a tablespoon each time, and they both gooble that right up. And they free feed on Royal Canine. My problem is with the cat. He will eat their food if I don't watch it. |

| I have four cats. One is on a diet, one needs extra calories and the other two just need to keep the status quo. Cats are nibblers by nature, but the one on the diet will eat hers and everything else in sight if I am not right on top of her. What do I do? I do supervised feedings. They eat what they can eat in 15 minutes time, or until they are done with the sitting. Thats it. Nothing more until the next meal. The fat cat gets the diet food. The skinny cat gets the high cal food, the others get the maintenance formula. So far, this has worked out quite well. My cats are no longer nibblers. They now know that if they don't eat, they won't get to eat again for quite some time. Oh yes, they only eat twice a day. If you can't do supervised feedings, you might try placing the nibbler in a gated off room or an expen with food, during the day if you cannot be home. Good luck to you.

I can take anything out of Leo's mouth and one day when I was walking Abby by herself she found a chicken bone and started munching on it, with out thinking I just reached down and took it right out of her mouth. Which was good that she wasn't an aggressive dog with her food. So do you feed only once a day or do you break it down to smaller meals and give it two or 3 x a day? | All of the large dogs get fed once and that's at night. The little ones get fed usually twice a day. The cat gets to free feed and her food is up high so the dogs won't bother it or her while she's eating. |

| Stephanie- I wouldn't allow any dog to feed soley on cat food. It's waaayyy too high in some areas of nutrition and not enough in others for a dog. As a treat, that's one thing, but not as a staple diet. Just for future reference. You'd be better off feeding him/her people food or adding such to a nutritionally sound dog kibble. I'm glad you did what you felt you had to in the end though. Go on ya for fostering! |

| My goofy cats feed the dogs cat food. The cat food is up high and they use their paws to push a piece of food out of the dish and then push it onto the floor for which ever yorkie is waiting. Anyway, I feed Lexi and Tori twice a day. I cook them breakfast and feed each individually. Then For Dinner I steam veggies and mix with a bit of kibble. Candi eats 3 times a day because of her size. (2lbs 3ozs) For treats my girls get cucumbers, raw fresh green beans, raw carrot shavings, or yogurt.

| I have two furbabies. I feed Bernie inside the ex-pen and Kona's bowl is outside the expen. When I only had Kona I would leave the food down for her at all times, but now with Bernie, I have them on a schedule. Bernie is a very big eater and I don't want him to eat all of the food. What I'm doing now seems to be working pretty well.

| I suppose I have it easy right now. One of my dogs is 5 years old, and the other one 5 months. The 5 month old, has her food in one spot, and the 5 year old, has his on a bench that the baby can't get on yet. But I've busted my 5 year old eating puppy food a few times! I have to watch, and make sure I say a stern "NO" when he tries to get near it again. Don't know what I'll do when the baby can hop on the bench I feed my older one on! |

| I free feed both of mine out of the same bowl. I put a fresh bowl of food out every morning and both of them nibble on it all throughout the day. |

| If you are really concerned about it you can feed them separately. I give mine their own moist food in the Morning but i just leave their hard outt and dont really know how much either of them eat of that

| I have 3 and I guess I got lucky cause.. the adult doesn't like the puppy food and the puppy doesn't like the adult food. Maybe you could feed them at different times and watch them as they eat so you can teach them whhose is whose. |
