So lets suppose: Suppose you post a question that generates some very strong heated opinions. Opinions that you do not agree with. The opinions are coming from people that have the knowledge of the breed, experienced and are familiar with AKC standard, hours upon hours of research as well. You get your feelings hurt because you felt they were too harsh or mean. I would bet you money that those same, "mean", people would be there for you day or night in an emergency for you, talk you through it no matter how long it took, and give you the reassurance needed when you are terrified about your little one. |

I agree ! You brought up some good points. This was one of the first thing that I noticed when I first joined YT. When I see those post I really try to avoid them and go the other way. Like it or not.. there have been a lot of these post. It is really no wonder that a new member turns and runs. I also have to say that I have met some really great people on here. Some have been just as helpful and kind as they can possibly be. DOn't give up just yet. Welcome to YT!!!:) |

Hang in there. This site is wonderful. Lot's of knowlegable yorkie lovers. Maybe so passionate with thier feelings they can get carried away at times but not deliberately. Most of the time they realize it and apoligize. It has happened to me. There is always someone to help. Opinions differ in every aspect of our lives. I, too, like Carol Jean, if looking for another yorkie, would not hesitate to purchase one from a pet store. Most would not agree with me but that is my own opinion. To me it is not debatable. You just need to know when to walk away. Enjoy your new friends here and learn, learn, learn. Carol & Buddy:aimeeyork |
I love this site for the most part, I wouldnt leave because of snooty or trouble maker people, every site or aol list has them lol Its not worth the aggrivation... but here on YT if i see a thread getting argumentative, i leave it... if i type a post reply i read it, if my reply might hurt someones feelings i delete it before i post it..makes me feel better that i answered it ( even though only to myself lol) I see alot of new members with 1 or 2 posts reply to a thread as if to start trouble or maybe stick up for a breeder who has been questionable..those are the kind of threads i stay out of once I see it happening. I replied once to something then later in the thread come to find i should have kept my mouth shut because I didnt know all the facts before i typed...I learned a lesson there. life is too short and stressful at times to come on here and add to it for anyone. I talk to a very few members in pm's, I wish it was more, maybe someday I'll get to that point, but I love coming here especially when I'm feeling down, which is alot lately. I read posts, look at all the beautiful furbaby pics. I've learned so much since ijoined. this really is a great place to be a part of. I try to remember this.....behind this screen is a real person, you dont know their story, are they having a bad day? feeling down? think before you type. have a great day..Elaine |
I have not been a member long, and I have seen some threads where people are maybe rude, maybe opinionated, but for the most part I have seen encouragement, humor, sincerity, and a common love for our furbabies. I didn't find this site until after I got my baby, but when I did, I learned sooo much! Even if I don't agree with someone I learned from them. If I don't like what someone is saying I move on. There is something for everyone here....and thank you to all of you who take the time to post your knowledge when I know you would rather be getting wet kisses from your :aimeeyork |
been here a while.... Some are very opinionated. But I must say I did read a post just befoe this one and I was shocked by the rude comment someone made. Didn't discourage me though. Someone apparently has too much time on their hands. And people need to realize that their opinion about certain things is just that. AN OPINION. Stay. Lots of great people here. |
yep, I'll admit it I am just plain MEAN!!!!:p |

THIS IS MY POINT. WE ALL HERE TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE NOT PUT EACH OTHER DOWN. WHAT YOU WROTE WAS NOT NEEDED. REMEMBER EVERYONE WAS NEW TO THE BREEDING FEILD OR PARENTING FIELD BEFORE. |

I know that one of the "mean girls" was the first to help me out one time and I called her in the wee hours of the morning and she's not only done this for me, she's done it for many other members...but no one remembers that. |

I UNDERSTAND THAT BUT THERE IS NO REASON TO BE MEAN OR RUDE. MY MOM ALWAYS TOLD ME THAT AN FIRST IMPRESSION IS THE ONE EVERYONE REMEMBERS. YOU DONT HAVE TO BE RUDE OR MEAN. ITS NOT WHAT YOU SAY HOW YOU SAY IT. I AM NEW TO THE YORKIE WORLD AND I LOVE MY BABIES TO DEAF BUT IM NOT GOING TO ASK SOMEONE THAT WAS JUST RUDE TO ME FIVE MIN. AGO A QUESTION AND OR BECAUSE I\'LL BE AFRAID THAT THEY WOULD PUT ME DOWN AGAIN. THATS ALL IM SAYING. |
