Owners do not bring their dogs to the groomers to be hurt, but it can happen and if you tell the owners about it and you have taken care of the problem , they may or may not forgive you, but that is just the way it is. When I was a hair dresser I can remember the girls sometimes cutting a ear or something, if this can happen on a woman sitting still it can happen on a small moving target.

It is not the accident we can not forgive, it was her response that was unacceptable, and you do need to make sure she pays the vet bills it is her responsibility.

We have all of the dogs information on file as to their vets, but the owners are told if ever there is an emergency they will be taken to my vet as he is only 4 blocks away and he will take of anything for me right away. If it is more serious like a stroke or heart failure of an old dog then he could consult with the owners vet. Good for us in all the years I have been grooming that has never happened. But I have worked on dogs that are over 20 years old, their time is very limited and I make sure the owners know what the risks are. Sometimes I make them stay with their dog, just in case something does happen.
My clients need to trust me as to their dogs care and know that I would do anything I can to keep them safe.

Thanks Nobella, she should have never had to ask for her money back...Shame on her......If you handle these problems right the owners will come back.

My Sissy is ok and she goes back to the vet next week for a check.

The car comment she made.. YEAH they would!! or fix it right, with out a charge!

and the dr thing.. yeah you would get charged BUT you would get ALL your money back + THIN some after you sue the pants off them!!!


I dont see how people can be soo dumb!! She should have never charged you in the 1st place!
