Can you beleive this? 2 weeks ago Sissy went to a groomer and she cut the tip off her ear. After talking to many about this and here on YT I finally went back today and asked for ALL my money back. She said to me she was sorry. But, if I would take my car in to be fixed and they made a mistake they would not give my money back or... My child to a doc and they made a mistake I would still be charge.. Well she gave all my money back and I left in disbelieve of what she said. My Sissy is ok and she goes back to the vet next week for a check. |
Well good at least you got your money back |
That is good that you did that. Don't worry about what she said. She cut your baby and you could have done it worse like making her pay for the vet bill. |
I am so glad you got your money back. I am so protective of my babies though that it wouldn't have been enough, especially with the comments she made. As for me....I would make a sign no smaller than a 4 ft x 4ft and write "___________of whatever grooming, cut the tip of my dog's ear off" and stand it in my front yard. I know that is probably not what most would do, but I would want to warn others. I can't believe she compared that to a mechanic and a dr. |
Accidents happen and unfortunately dogs do occasionally get cut at groomers. Rather than refunding the groom price, the groomer should have paid the vet bill(s) which were probably more than the price of the groom anyway. |

At my shop over the last 30 years there have been a couple accidents. One must understand that even though I am a very good groomer there are a lot of things that can happen with dogs that move and sharp tools. I have never myself cut an animal that needed to go to the vet but I have had groomers that have had accidents. Nothing to serious but still accidents. The first thing we do is not charge for the grooming and by the time the owner comes to pick up the dog it has already been to my vet and I have paid the bill. If it needed further care I would always pay for it. Owners do not bring their dogs to the groomers to be hurt, but it can happen and if you tell the owners about it and you have taken care of the problem , they may or may not forgive you, but that is just the way it is. When I was a hair dresser I can remember the girls sometimes cutting a ear or something, if this can happen on a woman sitting still it can happen on a small moving target. It is not the accident we can not forgive, it was her response that was unacceptable, and you do need to make sure she pays the vet bills it is her responsibility. |
why did you pay in the 1st place and why did you wait 2 weeks? |
Shes probably made mistakes so many times that she already had planned what she was going to say. Glad you got your money back and that your pooch is okay:) |

If you're anything like me, it wasn't about the money, it was the principle that she hurt your baby and didn't accept any responsibility for it. By her giving you your money back it was her owning up to what she did. Good for you for sticking up for yourself and your baby. |
