oh my ... tahts so messed up! Shes lucky it wasn't my dog or she wouldn't even have any hands left to eat. I hope you find someone to help you and poor little Parker this lady wasn't a vet she was a witch.

It's sad, but you said this place was cheaper, and sometimes you do get what you pay for. Someone needs to put this lady out of business. I can see why she volunteers; no one in their right mind would pay a vet like that!

OMG - I am so sorry you and Parker had to go through that. That is awful, I know just how you felt. A few years ago, my dog Max was very sick, vomiting, lethargic, etc - it was a holiday so one of the vets had to come in and unlock the office to give Max a shot for the vomiting. Well, Max was scared and didn't feel good and nipped at him as he tried giving him the shot. The vet just hit Max on the head. I was in complete shock. We were the only two in the office, I was needing medical attention for Max. After we left and it sunk in what happened, I cried all the way home. Max wasn't getting any better, so I called the senior vet - he said let the doctor on call attend to him. I told him after the way Max was treated I would not let him touch him. The senior vet met me at the office and I told him what had happened. I told him a vet should know dogs can react this way when scared and hurting and the doctor should know how to handle and restrain properly. Also I told him Max is like one of my kids, and this killed me when he hit Max. I told him I wanted an apology and that vet NEVER to treat my dog again. I think you were probably caught completely off guard and couldn't quite grasp the situation. Anyway, I would talk to the appropriate people about that behaviour. So sorry you guys had to go through that.

anyway i would have picked up my dog and left they cannot stop you from picking up your own dog and leaving if they do then that's when the police need to be called! i understand you think a vet knows what they are doing but there's a certain point when enough is enough "professionals" or not! if somone did that to your child do you think it would be the same thing uh heck no at least not in my company!

I am so sorry you and your baby had to go through this. I would report her and her tech and calling the tv stations is a really good idea. Please don't let this go until she pays for what she did. I think I would be sitting in jail if it was me. Take care of Parker and yourself.

What a horrible person! Serves her right! I would have grabbed my dog and hauled a$$ to get out of there! I hope that you took pictures of the marks she left on your baby! Definitely file a complaint against that witch!

If they are restraining your dog with obvious huge force, it's not like she could have just picked him up and left. She said she tried to stop them - obviously she didn't willingly allow them to harm her dog. She's already obviously distraught about the incident, be a little more supportive!!

Poor Parker My puppy has been to the vet three times now for vaccinations and with each visit, he is learning that this 'vet guy' is not the most pleasant person. But at least my vet gives him extra hugs and soothing talkings-to before and after each shot. At the last visit, I had him microchipped and I almost changed my mind when I saw the size of the needle That thing was huge and all I could I think of was Max was NOT going to sit still for that one. It took a little restraint with help from his assistant but it was over in a flash and my vet scooped him up and gave him hugs.

OMG my heart fell as I read this!! I'm so sorry you and your baby had to go through this. If that ever happened to me and I am NOT joking (anyone who knows me can tell you this is the truth), I would have laid her OUT!! I am NOT even kidding in the least. I would have knocked her out cold. How DARE she abuse your dog like that!! And that's what it is ... ABUSE. Besides reporting her to her vet association (or whatever it's called), I would get the media involved. I'd call EVERY news channel and get them involved!!

I would press charges against this woman, no VET should ever treat an animal they way she treated your baby. I'm afraid I would have taken my dog and walked out the 1st red flag I seen.

I took him to the townships Microchipping clinic. I figured I might as well since they were offering it for such a good price, and a vet comes in and voluteers for the day to administer them.

So as soon as we get there, Parker is shaking like a leaf. The vet with no heart orders him up on the table, he's still very obviously scared and shaking. I then told her that he gets really scared, and that he will nip a little when he's scared. So instead of trying to pet him and try to make him feel at ease, she grabs and PINCHES (hard) his neck and tries to pin him down!!! At this point he's done nothing but shake. So this obviously scared him more and he started to nip at her at me, she's yelling at him and at me, that if he bites the wrong person they'll sue me. She then gets a helper, who decides to take his leash and tie his mouth and nose with it, so his tongue is sticking out and he's biting his own tongue now as he freaks out, GREAT way to get him to like his leash. She keeps pinching and twisting his neck while he's screaming and yelping and pooping all over, then when she knew she was hurting him she purposly would do it some more. It was absolutely horrifying!!! She ended up not getting the first microchip in right and had to do it again. Meanwhile I'm screaming at her to let him go that she's litedrally scared the $hit out of him, and that my own vet has NEVER had a problem giving him a needle cuz she knows how to properly interact with a scared animal! but she wouldnt let him go, she did the microchip again and got it in this time, but he bit her! He bit her BAD (I was happy cuz I was ready to go at her myself), she bled all over him, he was soaked in her blood. It was just an absolute horror show! When I bathed him at home to get the blood off, he was covered in red welts from her pinching him.

As a profesional she should know how to put a frightened dog at ease, and not completely petrify him more. She should know how to restrain a 9 pound dog without purposely trying to inflict pain! It was so completely UN-professional. I stormed outta there and bawled for like 3 hours. If someone ever saw ME treat my dog the way she did, I'd be charged with animal cruelty, but because she's a vet, it's ok? She should know even better. And I gave her forewarning that he does nip, so if she was concerned she should have taken the proper steps, put a muzzle and gloves on (even though my own vet just has to pet him). SHE is supposed to be the professional!

But today she called my vets to get his vaccination records, and then the health unit, and they've now quaratined him for 10 days (in my house tho). I called my own vet this morning to tell her (since she wanted to be notified if his anxiety got any worse) and to see if the microchips were even put in properly. He has an apt for Wed, but she's supposed to call me personally to speak to me about the incident. She will be HORRIFIED when she hears what happened. My vet would never treat an animal like that! She pets his neck and sticks the needle in without him even knowing! The tech that called me about the vaccination records couldn't understand it cuz there's never been any history of it! He's not aggressive in the least but when he was terrorized his natural response is going to be to bite!

I'm wondering, is there a complaint board/system for vets? I've heard that other people have had problems with this particular vet and lodged complaints as well. I'm soo disgusted, I have to make some sort of formal complaint!

Sorry for the LONG post, but I needed to vent! I've bawled for 2 days, and had to leave work bawling to go meet the health inspector. What an absolute horror show! My poor Parker baby! He needs lots of hugs!

I would have probably ended up in jail for slugging the woman. I would most definitely report her. Go on line and see if there is some place there where you can either call or file a complaint online with your state about her and you may also be able to see if anyone else has filed a complaint.

Godd for Parker for biting her. She is in the wrong profession.
