				   | That's hilarious! I love the Yorkie with that WILD hair do! Schatzie's breeder's son/girfriend have a Chi named Pinky. She is ALWAYS dying this poor little thing pink. But I admit, it's funny and cute.

				   | Anjlka: I agree with you. I don't think it's any different than dressing your dog in clothes and for dogs who don't like that, it may be better for them. Dogs are color blind so I don't think they actually can be "sad" about it since they can't tell. lol (someone correct me if I am wrong about that) Biddy: I love the smurftese name!! You crack me up!! I don't really care for the blue (it's not my color) but I like the pink. I was the chairperson for a fashion show benefit and the producer put her pink poodle in the show! It was the hit of the whole day!! So cute!! |

				   | I agreed with Anjlka and SoCalyorkiLvr. I don't personally will dye my pooches hair, But I don't see it like mistreatment. I see it in comparison as us dying our hair. This particular color looks awful on the Maltese thou and he looks so sad. "ditto". Like i said I wouldnt do it but I dont judge it either. JMO |

				   | I agree with everyone. I would never dye Jane's hair purple or pink. I think thats plain cruel!

				   | I don't really think its mistreatment as long as the dye isn't hurting the dogs. I personally don't like the look of it, so I would never do it. Although I did see a maltese who just had the tips of her ears pink and that was actually kind of cute. I put clothes on my dog and she seems like she's ok but I've seen many pics where the dog looks like "oh not this again" when it has clothes on. And as for the fashion statement question...Exactly what is the point of putting clothes on your dog?

				   | That whole site makes me sick! Reputable breeders have worked so hard for generations to establish breeds and these people breed mixes on purpose! Don't get me wrong, I love my mixed breed Lab/Dobie to death, but IMHO there are way too many mixes in shelters and on the streets to purposely breed them. Of course, accidents do happen, but these people are doing tis intentionally for the $$$.

				   | I really don't think there is anything wrong with that(colored dogs). I have dyed my hair those colors before and if it doesn't harm the dogs who cares. They don't know or care as long as they're loved.

				   | I also dont have a problem with dying the dog hair. I have seen it done to other peoples dogs, (mine have always been black and tan) and I really think it is kinda cute sometimes. I wouldnt do it all the time, but like someone else said, it is no diffrent than putting clothing on a dog, infact I bet they might like it better, esp if they arnt used to the clothing. I guess I dont let stuff like that bother me because I have people say dressing your pups is cruel. I dont think so, and they seem to be ok with it. Besides I heard the same things about my kids, my boys are 2 of triplets and I dress them alike. Never thought it could be considered a bad thing, but some think of it as abusive.

				   | one year my brother- who raises siberian huskies- had a litter still at home around Easter time with a total of 3 white ones- so in honor of Easter he used kool-aid (without the sugar, of course) to "enhance" their color appearance. Each one was a different color- it was really kind of cute. Not something you would want to look at every day, but it didn't hurt the pups any. Being Siberian huskies, they produce a lot of hair and shed quit a bit, so the color began fading in no time. |

				   | As long as the dye is safe to use on dogs and the dogs doesn't mind I don't see a huge problem. It would be important to makes sure the dog is safe from allergies and overall anxiety from the process of being dyed. (Max would never take part in this he hates anything involved with bathing and grooming) As in any case if the dog is unhappy or if the owner gets carried away... then we have a problem!

				   | I thought the pictures where funny- I admire the breeder for having enough of a sense of humor to share them on her web site. The majority of my bloopers get deleted before anyone else can see them I, for one, know that all my dogs have a very special ability of being able to ruin my perfectly poised "kodak moment" at the exact instant I click the camera. Thank heavens for digitals- at least I am not going through a ton of film just hoping that one out of the roll of 25 will be a decent picture! |
